    • No one gives you 60 days no questions asked money back offer.

      • Not really, no however Dick Smith have a 14 day guarantee. So long as you keep the packaging and the receipt then they are always pretty good.

I'm going to agree: this is not a bargain.

Get something for the same price that you actually know the brand. Western Digital ones come with a 3 year warranty.

There's some info from last time they had these:
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/19669

    FYI @
    http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies-archive.cfm/123…

Some say they have a Hitachi HTS543232L9A300 5400rpm inside. Some have a Seagate 5400rpm.

  • Yeah pretty averaged price now for a 500gb drive, especially Aldi with no idea what HDD is inside.

  • .

  • I bought this the last time round - it's a decent hdd. This price is pretty common for 500gb 2.5" drives now.

  • I got one as well last time around, two actually, and used one in the PS3 and the other external.
Was more of a bargain back then, still not a bad price.

  • Yeah not bad, great deal for mums and dads out of the "bargain loop". Pretty average deal for the price-savvy community of OzBargain. 640GB deals for under $100 are starting to appear now and that's what I think most people here would rather walk away with after parting with $99.

Not negging this deal, just saying it's not true bargain material.

  • mwave have a 500gb 2.5 wdc + astone usb case for $90

    plus sides? 3yrs warranty

down sides? you have to build it yourself and you have to drive to lidcombe

    • again, pay an extra $9 and get a known brand (Western Digital) one from DSE. has 3yr wty also.

the 15 inches laptop at 800 with i3 cpu looks decent. does it have to be a bargain to be listed on ozbargain everytime? aldi has stores everywhere, and you can buy computer (and parts) while you are getting milk, can't do that at MSY and Umart now, can you?

    • thats quite a weak point actually.

i always thought anything posted here has to be a bargain of sorts because it's "Oz bargain" dot com. :)

      not voting -ve. though..

    • But you can get a brand name version with a longer warranty for the same price at Officeworks or JB, and you can get it with free delivery from DSE for the same price.

And Aldi isn't even nation wide.

  • I bought this last time round, it's pretty good, responds as quickly as my sister's which she paid $300 for! Also quite hardy, I'm not the most careful person but it's never even given a blip!

  • not really a deal considering the DSE offering that has free delivery and no surcharge on CC purchases (unlike Aldi).
