    • yaa man !

  • this is a great deal!!

I wonder what brand the drive is?

    • +1

Medion-German Brand. Comes often in Aldi. Oh ! you mean the inside drive , is it ? Who knows !

Is a Hitachi. I bought one for $119 about 3 months ago from ALDI. It was a reduced price from the advertised selling price back then.

  • are there any audi got stock?

    • I think the dealerships have to wait for that new V12 Q7 to come in.

  • this is a really good deal!

  • +2

Will probably be Sold Out at your local ALDI by 9:05 AM sharp on 10th Dec

    • Sometimes, I think they dont really stock up. Went to three near by Aldi's this morning starting from 9.00-9.20. All said the GPS has been sold out. In the first store, I was among the first 5 customers !! They lie on your face man !

      • +10

They lie on your face? You sure you went to Aldi and not an escort agency?

      • +2

I am not sure if the staff lied. It could be that the stock got sold out the night before. Unlike Coles and Woolies, Aldi do not have night fillers. It is the staff which fill the shelves the night before, ahead of their closing time. So if you go there say in the evening of a Wednesday, you can pick up the items. Also unlike other supermarkets who come out with specials on the same stock, so the register scans a lower price only for the period of offer. Aldi works on a different model. It offers special products for a short duration. So if you get the item, you get it at the advertised price.

        I hope I am clear.

I have shopped on Wed evenings, when you get the fresh stock and not many shoppers are in the store. I find this more useful for clothing items. All sizes are placed neatly on the hangers. You don't have to go through the pile of messed up stock, which normally the bout of weekend shopping turns it into.

Give it a go and please post back you feedback here.

        • Oh ! So, you are a Wednesday shopper for Thursday deals !! I'll give it a try this week. Lets see. I still have questions about this though !

          • @ahmed: Did you try shopping on Wed?

What do say. Did it work for you?

  • +1

yeah probably its worth a shot though,
i will clean up the entire pallet
    :)

    • doubt they would have a pallet - lucky if they have 20.

      plus you'd need $10k for a pallet - even @ $99 ;)

      • that parts easy
we go through that in 60 days for storage,
they better have more than that

        • Then $99 per .5 TB is not good value for you. (or me)

anyone have any idea what brand drives are in these things?

  • OW are selling the 500GB WD ones for $129… (well they were last week anyway…)

would like to know the HD too

  • but not mac compatible :(

    • +1

format the drive to fat32 if it's not already that then u can use it for mac, or install NTFS-3G on your mac to enable read/write to NTFS drives.

      • thanks Noslee. i will investigate, as i don't understand any of that :)

        • Buy and then I can help you understand how to make it work in mac. If you cant manage, return it. You have 60 days to investigate :)

Glad I moved from Brisbane to Adelaide that way I can miss all these bargains living in 1890…better go show the locals the miracle of the wheel and fire whilst I wait for Aldi to open here :)

  • whats the internal drives in these bad boys?

    • +1

Most likey the cheaper Hitachi or Samsung. Would be good if it has WD or Seagate inside.

  • Probably Hitachi or Toshiba ( those are the cheap OEM drives ) Samsung, WD and Seagate i would say are the better QTY drives with samsung being the best bang for buck!

  • Still in stock at Underwood Brisbane store at 10am.

    • where abouts in the store did they keep it?

      • Have to go to the cash register and ask for it. In my case, the checkout girl kept a box of it near her seat. Sucks if there is a long waiting line and then to be told they ran out of stock.

        • exactly what what happened. The Springwood store is also out of stock :( Now, to figure out how to find stock.. Will visit the Sunnybank Hills store tonight and see how I go

  • anyone know if Hornsby ALDI still have the stock ?

  • anyone know if Hornsby ALDI still have the stock ?

  • just to let you guys know, got one today and its a Seagate 5400rpm. so i guess its one of those random brand thing.

    • I got this morning. How do you check what drive it is? I'l like to see if its seagate or hitachi. I do know from the outside of the box it states its a 5400rpm drive.

Edit: mine is also a seagate

  • Just been playin around with this thing but can't seem to work out how to open the enclosure as I would like to use this HDD in my laptop.

Does anyone have an idea on how to open the enclosure?

  • remove the 4 feet on the bottom and your see screws = )

    • +1

      i c ic…
removing the screws seem to be a pain

    Springwood - Sold Out
    Sunnybank Hills - Sold Out
    Underwood - Sold Out
    Carindale - Sold Out
Woodridge - Managed to get one from back.

Alot of places are selling out fast. I think no one bought at woodridge as it's not that good of a suburb.

    • "at woodridge as it’s not that good of a suburb"

Yeah this item doesn't fit into Woodridge as a suburb coz they like everything bigger there … Bigger cars, bigger tats, bigger women, and bigger w*nkers.

      I call it 'poo'dridge.

    • none is woodridge are there any in anyother brisbane stores ?

  • there a few left in canberra centre

  • Got the last one at my local store today. The HDD inside is a Seagate ST950032. Cheapest on Staticice for just the drive alone is $117. This is a good deal!

  • Is opening it difficult?

    • I didn't open mine, but if you need to it looks like there are screws underneath the rubber feet. If you just want to tell what sort of HDD you have, right click on the drive in My Computer, select properties, and then go to the hardware tab (in XP at least). You should find it listed under the "Name" column with your other devices.

  • Yeah I did that.

    Does opening void warranty?

    • That's usually the case, is it not? Why do you want to open it?

  • PS3 Hard Drive.
