Not sure if you're trying to be funny. Wilson is one of the most well known tennis brands, if you don't like it go away.

No they're made by that old guy from Dennis the Menace

  • I find Federer's 97 RF racquet a bit too heavy and will feel heavy after 1 set or so, not recommended for casual players. Get the Pro staff 97 instead, approx 317 grams.

    • The one on website is actually the RF type btw guys, pro staff 97 lighter is not on there I don't think.

I'd say anything under 100sq is probably not ideal for casual hitters. Smaller head racquets are for a specific and refined style, not for average casual hitters.

  • how do WIlson racquets compare to head?

    • I think that depends on a lot of factors like game style, swing style and preference. I've always used Wilson and they've been great, I've also used the Head Youtek Speed MP Djokovic's racquet and didn't suit my game play. If you were an all around player, I think Federer style of racquet will suit, Novak's racquet is more like power baseliner.

WARNING: I just went to the Rebel Sport Shop yesterday and the prices for the few products is cheaper in the shop than online prices. Please check that and confirm if it's true. If that's the case this is not a deal. That's why I'm negging it.

    • i saw it near apple store yesterday

    • They're perfectly allowed to have a sale online and not in-store, that doesn't make it any less 'deal-worthy' and certainly not worth a neg vote.

      • If they are simply jacking up the prices for online store and then calling 30%off is a deal then they have a better "deals" in their shops at normal prices. It is the same company, so people naturally expect the prices of the online shop and the retail shop to be the same. If it is not the same then as I said people need to be cautious about that.

        • So what is it, you're being very vague… Was it cheaper in-store? Was it more expensive in-store? Was it 30% more expensive in-store?

        • @Spackbace:

Prices of a few products in the brick and mortar store was cheaper than the online store (by a significant margin).

        • @StiffHindQuarters:

The tennis racquets that OP posted? I mean, he posted them today, did you check prices of them yesterday?

        • @Spackbace: Nope, not the tennis racket but I bought some other things. That is why I asked in the first comment to check and confirm it.

        • @StiffHindQuarters:

How about you save the neg until you're proven right then?! Your neg voting based on a possible scenario, which also doesn't seem likely as these are 40% off RRP. They don't alter the RRP in store.
You have no grounds for a neg vote as you haven't found them any cheaper.

        • @Spackbace: Perhaps you are right. I cannot take the neg away. Please ignore my neg if this is the best deal.

        • @StiffHindQuarters:

Yes you can, go up to votes, click the minus button next to your name

          @Spackbace: Done. Thanks

  • @StiffHindQuarters Can you find new Wilson Pro Staff RF97 anywhere for AUD $179.99?

    • I cannot. I have removed my neg.

Waiting on a 20% storewide deal so I can go pick up a Babolat Pure Aero!!

  • -1

Wilson racquets are for good long rallies whereas babolats are more lighter and good for power hitting

    Wilson! Wiiiilsooooon!

  • Any recommendations for a reasonably priced amateur racquet?

  • Thanks, I bought a racquet for myself and wife. Sure to be an upgrade to my 1980's Stellar Spitfire!

Well anyone interested in playing tennis in and around Parramatta? Just send me a private message. I can say I am an intermediate level player as I have been playing on and off for close to 10 years now.
