Just saw the ad on TV. For new customers, apply for an ING direct savings maximiser account and enter the promo code CH9 and get $20 put into your new account.

Could not find the expiry but will update when it becomes known.

New Savings Maximiser customers will receive a variable welcome rate of 6.00% p.a. for 4 months from account opening, on balances up to $1 million. That's 1.35% p.a. higher than our great standard variable rate, currently 4.65% p.a.

      Update: I just tried both, and if you choose to apply as existing customer, then there is no field for promotional code.

        WRONG WRONG WRONG UBank is 5.85%, you are getting out smarted by smart banker talk. Its 6.05% starting June 1st. Today its May 9th, its another month away before you can make this claim and the others might rise by then as well

      Quite a while back (2005 I think) they had a promotion where the line was something like "Signing up to ING is as easy as 1-2-3" and they gave you that cash bonus as a kick-start. It was awesome as a uni student - I signed up for myself, my bro, mum and dad and then got all their bonus money haha.

  ok i think this might work because now in my offers>participating it has a tab named bonus interest.
  there it states

  Exclusive TV Offer

  Thankyou for opening your Savings Maximiser with us. Your $20 bonus interest will be deposited into your new Savings Maximiser at the beginning of July 2010.

  so this may work. hope that helps others who are prolly as confused as i was :)
