Ok here's my canned thoughts because this is the cheapest SLR ever (sort of SLR, mirrorless is shit)

the lens is f4 to 5.6 but it has no IS… the camera supports IS but you must buy an IS lens

      " mirrorless is shit" really?

Mirrorless is really great. That's why all the expensive stuff uses it. LOL.

    better get a3000 for $50.

    • Did you read that link? 3 posts that could be considered reviews and it is mixed.

I have the A3000 and it's a great camera. I bought at this price from the Sony ebay store last 20% offer. I have since purchased the 55-210 Sony E mount with OSS, an adapter to run A/Minolta mount lenses and some older Tamron lenses including the 19AH. These combinations make use of the great sensor (which is the same in the a3000/a3500) and I've been impressed with the quality.

BTW my 'refurbished' had around 3-4000 shutter releases.

      • I had the 3000 for a while, excellent IQ at this price range but poor auto focus, half of my picture lose focus.

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that the A3500 was one of the award-winning cameras of 2015 in Camera magazine Australia. I can't confirm that from the website http://www.avhub.com.au/camera. I thought that they gave the 3500 the award on the grounds of its high specifications (eg it has an electronic viewfinder - even if not a very good one, and an accessory shoe) and acceptable performance at a very low price.
