Interesting on the 3AW rumour file a caller said "An airline that flies direct Melb-Bali cancels all their direct
flights from September and customers who have already purchased tickets are being informed".
Less competition can't be good for pricing :-(

Air Asia not flying to Bali anymore after September
This Airasia route from Aus to Bali has been a total mess from the start. Its done more damage to their brand and they've probably realised to cut their losses. Let's hope jetstar and virgin/tiger will step in to help the poor customers with cancelled flights.
jumped on that lay flat glitch couple of months ago for $256 return direct travelling in Nov to Bali looks like I am now flying via KL ,didnt exactly want the extra 8hrs flying to enjoy it though !!
