Also don't forget this will qualify for free VR gear. More details in this post

    • And 1.25% off through cashrewards too!

      • +1

Omg. I have a 1.25% chance of saving an extra $11!

        • +3

thats 11 cans of $1 tuna cans!

        • or 22 cans if it's 50% off canned tuna at Coles or woollies

    • Does it really? Can you just get the claim at the store rather than wait for Samsung to deliver?

      • Yes it does, and no you can't.

  • +2

This or an import through kogan for $712 or so

    • +1

Depends on how bad you want the local warranty.

    • Saw this, but decided to get the s7 Edge from Kogan for $817. I have bought a couple of phones from them before, so far I haven't had the need to claim warranty on any of my phones (Kogan ones and contract phones). Hoping my luck will continue..

      • +2

But will it be the Exynos version?

    • I got my Samsung s5 from Kogan ….. still going without a problem. the charger came with an adapter though but I have enough chargers so wasn't an issue.

I have no issues with grey market., and even Australian warranty they will fix it but they don't say how long it will take …. 5 days or 5 weeks the warranty doesn't say " repaired or replaced within 5 days". Telstra are good they do swap overs but you pay more …

    • dont forget about the vr, even if you dont want it you should be able to sell it for around 100 bucks so yeah the price is alot closer than you think. also if youre traveling you can claim the tax.

  • Anyone tried price matching with 5% off at OW..? Couldnt find it mentioned anywhere..

    • Update - just rang to find out what you all already knew - they dont pricematch as its technically a 'coupon' that you have to enter to get the 20% off..sigh..

      • well, it is a coupon…

  • +1

Would they have the Exynos chip?

  • +1

Will the local TGG store match this? If so, the Amex offer will come in handy

  • does the good guys provide a invoice with name and address on it ?
if not, can I cancel my order for full refund ?
    Cheers

    • +1

Yes they do provide a tax invoice with your name and address on it, just picked up a Jaffle maker i ordered from them this morning and got a tax invoice from the store

  • Hmm got a broken screen on my S5. Should I go this or the S7 edge?

    • Biased opinion here from an Edge owner, but the Edge for sure. Bigger screen and looks gorgeous with the curved edges! I find the edges themselves haven't changed my life but accessing the widgets via the edge is still pretty handy I find. The regular one looks very bland and like an old gen phone in comparison too imo.

      • If you can't be biased, then who can. ;-)

Do you have an original case for it?

        • I'm using a Spigen Neo Hybrid case, had some small drops already and it's no doubt saved me without making the phone look and feel like a brick.

          This one in fact: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/262301438123

    • If you managed to break the screen on the s5, then you will surely break the edge screen. Go with s7 and get the best best cover in the market for it.

    • Another biased opinion from a S7 edge owner here, S7 edge looks better, bigger screen and bigger battery. I only got mine couple of weeks ago after i broke my S5 screen too by dropping a dumble on it in the gym but I absolutely love this phone. Best phone i ever owned

    • S7 will be my next phone but will just get the normal one not the edge …. usually keep my phone in flip cases…..

    • Just to add a contradiction to those promoting the Edge, don't get the Edge if you like gaming.

      • In the Gear VR you'll get slight light bleeding at the top and bottom of the screen.
      • Also in the Gear VR you'll have a slightly lower PPI, which causes some text to look slightly blurrier than S7.
      • The curved edge can make it hard to hold and you can accidentally hit the curved area.
      • Curved edges distort the image.

I game on the Galaxy S6 Edge and noticed these problems, if you don't game, the phone looks great.

broke my iphone 5s, now using the iphone 4 and its so LAGGY. Thank god for this deal :D Back to samsung again
Going to collect it today, it says collect on the next day but I called them up and they're organising for me to pick it up today!

  • Old boss got this and totally loved Knox. For me a non bootloop G4 is cheaper and better.i don't like Touchwiz no matter what.

  • nice deal. pity no edge. I keep waiting :)

  • +1

    Thanks for the deal!

I prefer the standard as the edge is over rated

  • +1

Geez, once you had oneplus and nexus, just felt wrong to spend $800+ on a phone now.. Not sure anyone else in the same boat too.. I still can't pull the trigger, and secretly wishing my current one plus die lol

  • FYI for those that havent ordered - Ordered yesterday, got a call from good guys earlier, apparently my order wasnt one of the few that got through, and they've said a wait of 2-3weeks to order one, or can cancel the order.. :(

  • +1

Got mine today with Click & Collect :D They also gave me a GEARVR without claiming it? saves me time

    • +1

Could you get another one by redeeming it online?

      • That's what i was thinking, I could try lol

        • +1

Do it! You could sell both and reduce the cost of the phone by big amount. Cheapest S7 ever!

        • @kaneissik: haha i will try my best, is it worth it to keep one?

        • @kaneissik:
The invoice has the GearVR on it, that'd probably be a problem right

4.Provide a copy of your original proof of purchase (tax invoice or contract) to the Promoter, which must be received by the Promoter within fourteen (14) days of submitting the Online Claim Form, by either:

        • +1

          @Sami.H:

Haha, plan could be foiled. You could always try edit it and see if they'd notice.

        • +1

          @Sami.H:

If you really cared you could just get a cardboard version of it for like 10-30$

        • @Sami.H: I assume they'd see it as the guy must've bought a seperate Gear VR or something. Samsung Australia hands out the VR; I don't think they'd care much about the invoice other than to make sure that it's an Australian stock.

Also, even if they don't, the claim process takes aeons, so you kinda are lucky.

    • Hey Sami. Lucky you. Where did you collect from?

      • Goodguys Cranbourne in Melbourne

  • No more pick up from store??!!??!! Can't give that "on the spot free VR" thing a go now :(

    • Nevermind. Stock is back on

  • Is this eligible with the free GEARVR offer if you do click & collect?

    • Sure is. Just don't loose the invoice they give you in store although I am sure you can get them to issue another

      • I just picked up my S7 from a store. Didn't get my headset at the time.

        • You have to submit a claim from Samsung website. See the link I mentioned in my first comment for more details
