    no love from brisbane :(

    • +3

Would you want to watch them?

      • +9

        if it's free ;)

        • +8

plus its good to support your team through thick AND thin!

        • +2

@Da dpG: any thinner they'd be supermodels.
Funny how the AFL ladder has inverted in the past 10yrs or so. Next thing you know Pies supporters will have dentists.

        • +2

@supabrudda: and marry outside their kinsfolk.

        • @altomic: and not rely on Centrelink

    • +5

You can't drive an hour to the Gold Coast??? It's a derby FFS.

      • Or the train and bus to the game should be free.

    • +2

Would love some instructions in the description on where to enter the code? :)

  • +2

The ARU could learn a thing or two from AFL marketing… could never see this happening for super rugby. $172.30 for Platinum seats for the wallabies vs england is ridiculous…. (and you should see what they classify as platinum)

    • +15

      you can't really compare a seat between Carlton/Adelaide vs a Wallabies/England game…

      • +26

True, AFL games each week have bigger crowds than international rugby…

        • Worth all this OT attention, but no +Vote?

        • +2

@Utopian: Indeed, 23 + votes seems short return from the 842 people have clicked the link.
However, I'll give it my vote if and when I secure a ticket - it's not a good deal if I want it and can't get it!

        • @loftizle: lol

        • +5

@loftizle: like most virginity's it was painful

        • +1

          and VFL games….

AFL charges per ticket what the average supporter makes in an hour…so does theARU.

        • Yeah but there is that difficult obstacle to overcome, of leaving your mums basement, to go see an AFL game.

        • -1

          @Da dpG: It's still bleeding!

  • +2

AFL is a game for everyone

unless your team in playing interstate that week… >:(

    • +16

unless your team is playing interstate that week

    • +1

Why do you criticise a deal when you posted a similar deal last year?

      • Why do you criticise a deal

        I'm not…

        • -3

          Learn grammar. (See below)

  • Does the code wave the ticket fees ??

    • +1

      Yes but must print yourself

    • +39

      waive

  • +7

How do you actually get them? I keep getting
    Offer code incorrect.
Please double-check your offer code/password and try again!

    • +1

      Yep same :(

    • Comments suggest that tickets will open 14 June

    • Go here
      Code AFLPASSPORT

      • Legend! Just scored 2. Thanks :)

  • +6

where do i enter the code?

EDIT: Are the tickets actually available yet?

    • Realised the OP put the starting date as the 6th of July so must start then i guess..

      • +1

Yeah that makes sense.. sweet, reminder it is lol

    • Go here
      Code AFLPASSPORT

      • it's saying access denied?

      • I just saw a tooltip appear suggesting this is for AusPost employees only!
Is this going to be a problem?

        • +1

Shouldn't be a problem as they don't check you at the gate unless it's a concession ticket. Plus how are they going to argue that you aren't an Australia Post employee

        • Might mean they take it down soon. I didn't read it closely at the time. They went on for so long about how inclusive it all is, I guess I didn't think to check who they were excluding from the offer ;)

  • No Adelaide love

    • +1

Assuming you missed the one listed for 7th July at Adelaide Oval ?

  • Are you sure they're using the same code as last year? I get the same error as above.

If they are, there may be a different link to use, as there seemed to be last year.

  • +5

where do i input the code?
i can't find anywhere on tickemaster to put it in?

  • +1

Getting message "There are no tickets available to the general public at this time."

  • +3

I am gettng this message that "There are no tickets available to the general public at this time."

  • For Adl game it says tickets not available till 14th June

  • +3

This looks to be the actual promo page:
    https://oss.ticketmaster.com/aps/afladmin/EN/promotion/home

Promotion doesn't start until 14 June 2016, and does not include all games.

    • +2

      Offer Expires : December 31, 1969

      • +2

Yeah looks like it was not supposed to be a public page and they have taken it down now.

Basically said opens 14 June 2016 at 9am and closes on 6 July 2016.

I believe the five included games are:

Western Bulldogs v Richmond at Etihad Stadium
        Sat, 9 Jul 2016 at 7:25 PM

Essendon v St Kilda at Etihad Stadium
        Sun, 10 Jul 2016 at 4:40 PM

Carlton v Adelaide Crows at MCG
        Sun, 10 Jul 2016 at 1:10 PM

Gold Coast SUNS v Brisbane Lions at MS
        Sat, 9 Jul 2016 at 4:35 PM

GWS GIANTS v Collingwood at SP
        Sat, 9 Jul 2016 at 1:40 PM

        • What about game in Adelaide

        • +1

@bargainball: Dont believe it was included (which would make sense as likely to be close to capacity I would guess).

Why are Melbourne playing in Darwin?

    • +6

      For money

  • No offers yet.

    • No crap, starts in 4 days

  • I live in Brisbane and would love to watch if it's free (and in Brisbane), I can google what MSG and TIO are, but where are SP and MS??

    • SP Spotless Sydney
      MS Metricon Stadium Gold Coast

    • Edit: beaten

  • Ok so sp is Sydney?

  • +1

I hope they bring lin jong in, he played well against tigs last year.

  • Haven't tried these before, but do you get reserved seating or is just GA?

  • +4

trying to buy now, wheres the section to enter the code?

    • same problem here, do you know if we can select seats or is it just general admission?

      • i got to select seat with the reserved/GA

        • yes but is the promo code suppose to work with selected seats?

        • +3

Selecting a seat isn't a problem. "Buying" the seat without paying is the problem - where do we enter teh code?

    • It is just above the map, around the middle of the page. Called "Offercode".

Does not recognise the code at this stage.

Would be great if the OP could pop back in with some more info!

      • I can't see any such thing :(

What kind of tickets did you select?

        • Just general admission (ie. not AFL members, etc).

This OzBargain page is literally the only thing I could find online about a free ticket for this round for this year. All the other things that come up when you Google it are from at least a year ago.

Tried this morning at 9AM (adl time) for the Port v Hawks game, 'MYPASSPORT' returns invalid, and its continuing to say no tickets avaiable at this time.

  • +1

In 2014, the deal was that you needed to have an international passport - http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-07-16/free-tickets-still-ava… in order to register at the My Passport site.

I suspect OP has found an old page in search results and thought it was current. It certainly isn't working for me.

    • Seems unlikely they would go to the trouble of generating the 2016 banner ad for the free tickets (which shows on the Ticketmaster link) if they weren't going to do it…

    • Go here
      Code AFLPASSPORT

  • I went to this page:

    https://oss.ticketmaster.com/aps/afladmin/EN/promotion/home

and put in the password: PASSPORT

      I get the message,

Unfortunately this offer is not available. To view all events for sale, click on the link below.

      • I tried a couple of times and it ended up working for me.

        • So you got a free ticket?

Well done, I've tried the link multiple times in different browsers to no avail.
