Same sales on the AU store, just not as cheap. Still great prices, i.e. Battlefield 4 (PS4) for $7.55.

    Link: https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-au/price-drops/cid=STORE…

    • Thanks. Bought from AU store.

      • why? just create an account on the US store, in a US state that doesn't have sales tax and then you can purchase games from the USA store even cheaper.

        • Mainly because I still got AUD$100+ credit in my PSN wallet, which I got for 20% off during JB Hifi sale.

  • Regret getting most of these games for $30+ :-(

    • +1

i'm regretting not upgrading my 500gb to accommodate more games…now i guess i'm waiting for neo

      • Yes, me too!

      • What features are you looking for in the neo? Frame rates, 4k?

        • VR ready is what I'm waiting for

        • @Infinite Monkee: the current PS4 is VR ready.

        • 4k (i have a 4k TV so video and gaming are attractive), better handling of VR (i have a pre-order in)

plus i'm probably what you might call a PS fanboi, so latest and greatest and all of that

        • @theguyrules: I thought it wasn't..that it was too under-powered hence the reason for the NEO?

        • @Infinite Monkee: Nope, PS VR will work on the existing PS4.

        • @theguyrules: good to know

        • @p1owz0r: Just note nothing indicates gaming will actually be 4K on the Neo - just video (games may have visual and framerate boosts, but resolution unlikely). So far Scorpio is the only console they're actually promising 4K for games, and it's significantly higher powered but likely to be very expensive.

        • @AXiS: True, but I'll wait for the announcement - lots of speculation going around right now so I'm keen to hear it from Sony.

  • how do you top up the store wallet? it wont work using my aussie card….

      • thanks for that link, remembered i had to set up a US amazon then ordered the gift code. also noticed when i logged onto my US amazon acount it wanted me to reentre my card number which was fine, but also there was someone else's card and number there too!??

        • I highly doubt that, Amazon is fairly well-known so it would be quite secure.

        • @theguyrules: tm15 could be using an unsecure uni or internet cafe computer and the browser has remembered someone else's credit card details.

        • @gizmomelb:

yeah id never seen that before, been using amazon for 10 years now. the other guys card was expired (like mine) so i would have had to reenter it anyways. ive deleted it from my account now anyways

  • does an aussie credit card like 28 degrees work with US psn? or do we have to do the buying gift cards route

    • I haven't tried that. I think it would be best to a US PSN card from Amazon.

      • psn credit from amazon. You need a card with a US billing address to buy direct from the US psn store

  • I have a feeling that the console market has been hit hard by the mobile games (iOS/Andriod) market.

    • maybe, but it's still generating more revenue than ever afaik

PSN Plus is so good! NBA2K16 for free and now these crazy sales!

  • I'm guessing you need US PS+ to get the cheaper prices and not a linked AUS one

    • That is correct. You can make a second account on your PS4 and make that your US account. You can then play games/PS+ across both accounts.

      • That's what I have, but my PS+ account is Australian

  • +1

Just to let you guys know the download size including patches is around 71gb. Which is excessive if you don't have a huge dl limit at home. Might be better off buying the hard copy from JB for $19. Just my 2c if you can't be f$cked sitting around waiting for it to dl

    • +4

which game are you talking about please?

    • +1

From what I have heard that game is completely different to how it was at launch, they fixed it (it was terrible apparently), so good chance if you buy the disc you'll be downloading a lot of patches to install anyway. 71GB is a lot of HDD capacity though :/

  • I think i'm missing something here, can you buy US digital games for Australian psn if you buy through the US psn store with an amazon psn balance that you pay for with your regular credit/debit card? Is that what everyone is doing or is this just for people with US psn logins?

    • +1

You need a US psn account on your ps4 to access their store.
You need to buy US psn credit gift cards (usually from amazon) to apply credit to the account.
Then you can buy anything from the US psn store. Once bought and installed, you can play the game on your AU account if you want to keep all trophies in the same place. Just make sure the accounts have your PS4 set to primary.

      • thanks for that, much appreciated

  • +1

Good sale and you can save a bit more on some titles if you use the Canadian ps store, much better exchange rate nearly 1:1

  • For PCMR https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/252842#comment-3776964

BF4 $5 AUD + $9 for Premium. Great game and worth every cent imo.

  • I have a US PSN account with PS+, and I have sufficient PayPal balance in my PayPal account in USD. However, when I'm trying to buy a game, it is charging my card and not taking my PayPal balance, I removed my card from my PayPal but it still won't take the PayPal balance, I can't find anything anywhere and Sony's live chat is closed right now, any ideas?

    • I think that may be more of a problem on PayPal's end.

  • I have just Created a US and Canada Account. Is it worth buying PS+ to get the games a little bit cheaper?

    • I think new accounts get 2 weeks PS plus for free so maybe try that?
