  • Is 50% off already applied to online prices?

    • Yeah looks like some are, the 7" AGFA in the pic is $64.95 (save $64.95) which corresponds to the online listing price.

  • Excludes the current sale models, cheapest 8" is $84. Prices looked similar to Kogan or eBay to me.

  • If I didn't plan to get a iPad I would get one of these.

    • if only the ipad was classified as a digital photo frame and were sold at DS right now

  • Just bought a 7" one from Target in Fremantle for $19 (clearance).

  • I just got this 1: http://www.jcmatthew.com/products/dpf/10_3.html

Was $269 but 50% off making it $134.50

JCMatthew 10" 1024x600, 2GB internal Memory, usb and memory card, speaker, calendar and alarm.

    • Ahha. Nice indeed.

      Is there much difference between the resolution: 1024 x 600 vs 800 x 480?

I can't find that model on the site, do they sell it instore though?

You might wanna read this; not sure how true it is but it seems fair.

Why is it important to have a frame with a 4:3 ratio LCD display?
Answer: The majority of Digital Photo Frames sold in the market now have a 16:9 ratio LCD display. Such widescreen frames use less expensive yet more readily available LCD displays as components. You can tell when you see resolution data such as 480 X 234, 800 X 480, and 800 X 400. They are all widescreen displays. The photos you shoot are mostly 4:3 in dimension. So when you use a widescreen display to show photos, you lose about 25% of the total viewing area.

        Has anyone noticed this personally?

        • You will find that some modern digital cameras have a wide screen setting. If you plan on only showing your pictures on the screen and not printed, you may be better choosing this.

Also if you have MicrOsoft PowerPoint 2007, you can create JPEGs in wide screen mode. This is handy if you want add text, clipart, other effects or combine a couple of pictures as 1 jpeg on your photo frame.

  • Mum is very pleased with her 10" JCMatthews frame. Nice features, well built. Excellent price. 16:9 is great since most of our shots are in that format. Anything 4:3 still looks good because it has slide show effects to detract from the black areas.

  • I was tempted by the JCMatthews 8" for $84, decent resolution, attractive and simple, 2GB built in, mp3 and vids i think.
