Myer - 50" LG Plasma $997 - Pacific Fair QLD

60

50" LG Plasma for under $1000.00. Seems like an ok deal to me. I'm in the process of evaluating weather or not this is a good buy myself.

  • oh, I need 1, and been looking for few weeks. I may get this 1,,, please advice thanks : ) i give u a +

  • First thing to note is that it isn't 1080p, its only 720p (really only affects blurays).

Second, its an LG. They aren't exactly known for high quality televisions. If you are looking for a TV around that price, I personally would go for a 720p Panasonic plasma.

I think for not much more you can get a 1080p model…and a better brand

    http://www.jbhifi.com.au/tv-lcd-led-plasma/panasonic/50-inch…

and there are better deals to be had

    • Exactly. The Panasonic S series is going to be EOL pretty soon (being replaced by the U series from what I can tell), so prices on them will start dropping, but as will stock.

FYI: JB HiFi have dropped the price on the TH-P50S10A over $200 in the last 2 weeks.

  • Correct specifications AU (the one posted above is UK model)
    http://www.lg.com/au/tv-audio-video/televisions/LG-plasma-tv…

It has 3 HDMI IN, and claims an Energy Rating of 4.0

  • I think JB has a similar/the same tv for pretty much the same price $998

do yourself a favor and spend a couple hundred extra and get a 1080P, if your buying a tv for this much and this big, it 720 VS 1080 as you can imagine there are quite a few more pixles on the 1080P (vertically and horizontally)
these TVs are already out dated, if you dont mind out dated stuff, they should be fine.

    • Just wondering how much 1080p content do you watch?

      • not really too much at the moment as most of the stuff i watch is streamed downloaded online. however i will be hiring bluerays as they become more main stream, but its like buying an old analogue TV and getting a set top box… why would you do it?

sure it works and its probably fine too….

however if your gonna spend a large amount of money you might as well do it properly!

  • I agree. For a TV that big I'd go 1080p without a doubt. I've seen those >50" plasma TV's that are only 720p and they don't have a very good picture.

  • yup LG flat screen tv quality is crap

  • JB and Clive Anthony were doing these for $888 a month ago
