  • It's a good app, but has been sherlocked a bit with the current OS as snapping windows to edges is now built into the OS. This still allows you to snap windows to the top and bottom though (which is not possible with the native OS).

Are you referring to the split screen mode? I'm personally not a fan because it forces me to use full screen mode.

      • It's not split screen mode (as you don't need to use full screen mode). It functions the same as Magnet.

Having said that, I still have Magnet installed on my Mac as I like the ability to snap windows to the top and bottom of the screen.

        • Have you got the link/instructions on how to use the built in window snapping?

        • @bikuta:
click and hold the green button in the top left corner of a window. only works some apps, latest os only

        • @bikuta: I use Magnet and think it a great app. Less fiddly than the native OX S approach https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5BVCbcv6nI

        • @bikuta: You just grab a window and move it to the edge the screen and it will snap into place.

        • @bs0: yep this is the one that turns the window to a full screen app though.

        • @changa: doesn't work for me on latest OS X. I'm pretty sure this is a Magnet feature.

        • @bikuta:
Works for me on chrome at least.

        • @bikuta: it's definitely native to Mac OSX. Watch the keynote from last year, Craig Federighi demonstrated the feature.

Not sure why it does not work for you. Are you sure you are running the latest Mac OS?

  • I use Cinch was pretty good.

That said, snapping of windows is now built in?….that made Cinch useless :(((

    Or Spectacle is always free.

  • On Windows this is standard feature..

    • It's standard on the Mac as well (has been since the last OS). But Windows did have it first.

Magnet allows you to snap windows to the top and bottom of the screen. Something both Windows and Mac OS X can't do natively.

  • I purchased Moom (on sale as a true OZB member should) which has some great resizing features. Some features have been 'adopted' by the latest OS but there are some others that are very handy. Magnet is cheaper ATM which gets my vote :-)
