  • Bought already and arrived yesterday. Quality is pretty good. Too early to comment on reliability or anything else.

  • How does this compare to a panel heater? Or do they work the same way (i.e. convection)?

    • Not really much difference with electric heaters. They all are pretty much equally efficient.

Reverse cycle air con is much more efficient though as they put more energy into the room than they consume.

    • This oil heater will not dry your room up.

      • This oil heater will not dry your room up.

This oil heater will dry your room up (or not dry it up) equally with any other kind of heater of equal power.

    • How does this compare to a panel heater?

It looks different, but heats the room exactly the same.

Doesn't matter what electric heater you choose - they all heat the room exactly the same amount (for a given amount of power). The only difference is that the ones with a fan blow hot air, which is usually preferable when you are "freezing".

  • Target had similar one with timer too for $69. Used for 2nd winter it does the job.

  • I got this and few days later it was $30 less asked if they refund the difference or even give me a gift card for future use lets say i not be buying from myer again.
Compared to other retailers they are by far the worst to deal with.
And very very slow in getting back to you.
It makes me wonder how they are still in business as prices of most stuff are always way more than others apart from the sales.

    • What you can do is buy a second one at the lower price, then go back and refund it with the old receipt with the higher price…

      • But that could be akward as purchased it off ebay with the $100 ebay voucher for $85 and paid the $49 on paypal.
And those ebay vouchers are non refundable?
Ok i did save $15 with the ebay voucher but could have saved $30 more if there promo had been on when i made purchase which happened while mine was in transit.

  • +2

you wanna watch your electricity bills though. These things chew the power.

  • surely the convection heater is the better buy? Its the same price

    • Its the same price

Then it is an EQUAL buy.

By the way, this is also a convection heater.

      • Sorry. I meant the convection heater with the fan.

  • Not cheap enough

  • You can buy oil heaters for $60 - they all are as effective as each other….
