  • Could have just combined the two posts you have.

    • (Yoda voice) .. Always two there are..

  • I didnt know if combining deals was allowed so kept them separate.

  • Do you need to select "associated" on this deal also?

  • 20 (very limited quantity) free tickets for the OZB community followed by a discount to boost flagging ticket sales. It's a good price for that someone who wants to attend nevertheless, I like the "walking us up" sales technique though,

    • don't worry price will go lower soon I think

  • LOL. Counter the low ticket sales = angry exhibitors … Yea I think the next round probably more discounts

  • Yeah its a sales strategy…..NOT. It is a very expensive event to hold and many tickets have been presold. Thought i would just give away a few and get a deal setup as i will be working the event. No need to try always find a fault with a legit deal.

    • Why see it as a fault finding comment? You "will be working the event" so you give a "few tickets" and "start a deal" which gets exposure from OZB community regardless of how many 27% discounted tickets sold … win win. You are indeed strategising from a sales and marketing perspective isnt it?

There's nothing wrong in bringing value and benefits to the OZB community from a REP perspective. I would pay to get the discounted tickets if the show is of interest and value to me, and I will thank you for providing the discounts. But no, I disagree with the pretense/ approach … at the end of the day, it is what it is. You dont give the 20 glorified free tickets because you love the OZB community, it would be an insult to a community who are totally capable of oz'bargining and bringing down a site in minutes for freebies.

Like what you said, it was given as a precusor so you can start a deal … "Yeah its a sales strategy ….. YES"!

  • I would go for free and take my son as he would want to buy stuff ….. but worried about paying and being disappointed with what might be on show.

Lucky fine food show tickets were free as it was disappointing…..

    • Yes trade shows can be very hit & miss but this is the first of its kind in australia. For $15 entry its a day out and im sure something will be there that takes your fancy.

Just take your son on an outing to your closest MSY. You get to see heaps of latest tech, have a cultural experience and if your son wants to buy something you know that the price is competitive.

  • i'd go for free…but to more variance in this sort of shows to justify paying for it

Bugger - already brought my ticket.

They should pay me to go to these events, that's the whole point of me going there, to buy their stuff!

  • I've got a spare that coz my mate bailed on me from 2 for 1 ticket.. so if anyone wants the other half $14 will do..pm me del if not allowed

    • I'll grab it, PM me because it says User DarkNexy does not accept new conversations.

      • Woops sorry. Didnt realise. Just sent u a pm

Exhibitors can ask what they like for tickets, it's up to the purchaser to assess value, but I will not pay $3.95 in fees on principal alone. The government and the ACCC need to address the fees that ticketek and the like charge in the same way the made it illegal for the airlines to charge exorbitant fees for using a credit card. Charging at %26.5 fee for purchasing a ticket is criminal.
