Olympus 15mm Lens $10, Olympus 9-18mm Wide Angle $499, Panasonic Lumix 12.5 F12 3D $99 + More @ Gerry Gibbs

110

Just saw an ad for financial year sale on facebook for Gerrygibbs, clicking on it, half expecting the prices to be mediocre like digidirect I noticed the Olympus 15mm lens is $10. Starts 23rd Midnight till 26th Midnight. Hopefully not a typo.

There is also Panasonic lumix 12.5 f12 3d lens @ $99, quick ebay search looks like it still sells for 250+.

  • Also: Olympus 9-18mm wide angle $499 - cheapest on staticice = $599

    Was just about to post.

And note that some prices are effective now, whilst others (eg. the $10 lense are not)

  • Wish the shipping fee won't be like WTF.

  • $10 Olympus 15mm f8.0 lens is able to be purchased now

  • $18.75 shipping. The $10 lens is available NOW!

  • and it's gone ..

  • The item: Olympus M Zuiko 15mm F8.0 Body Cap Prime Lens
We are sorry but this product has been removed from our inventory at this time.
This item has been removed from your shopping cart.

    • So that's a bait only…

    • Sweet! Must be a typo

    • Mod has too much alcohol tonight.

    • who bothered to put in an order?

      • I would hope no one's stupid enough to. Do you really think they'd take an $1800 loss on each order

        • who will you lose? a couple of mins.

        • @alwayseric: $199 from your bank account for ~5 days for it to be refunded. With you gaining absolutely nothing out of it.

    • Sure they won't honor it

      • They have to if they already accepted your payment according to ACL:

        "Wrong price
Where all units of the same item have been priced incorrectly or are scanning incorrectly at the register, the seller does not have an obligation to honour that price. In these circumstances, the seller is within its rights to correct the error at the register by offering you the item at the correct price (provided this is done before your payment is accepted).

A seller can’t attempt to correct the error or claw back any money after they have processed your sale and accepted payment, as the transaction (and the contract) is deemed complete at this point"

        • u placed an order?

        • @alwayseric: I think the payment options include Paypal, which is, instant transfer? Does it meet the condition of ACL?

        • @rocklinsuv: no idea. 3% surcharge for paypal. i believe at least gerry's should refund the payment fee as well, if they dont honor the deal.

        • @alwayseric:

Nah, I very much doubt they will honor it. I was in GGCW shop the other day to pick up a Yuneec Typhoon H which they confirmed by email was in stock. It turned out after a lot of faffing around they had 1 opened unit on display which was pre-ordered by another customer (with deposit paid) They couldn't get hold of the guy and were looking on sell it. Didn't buy it of course, I would have felt so bad for the guy who probably pre-ordered months ago what with all the delays.

        • @alwayseric:

This is from their T&Cs page:

          Pricing
Prices taken from third party sites such as ShopBot, GetPrice, AusBargains, Best Deals etc are reference only and may be out dated due to the time at which the said third party site scans our database for prices. Prices are also subject to change at any pint due to specials or price changes from the importer due to exchange rate fluctuations and other factors outside of our control.
If goods are presently not available directly from stock and the importer has a price rise prior to delivery of the goods, any ordered product is subject to the price increase and you will be contacted regarding this price change prior to shipping or collection.
Pricing Errors and omissions are accepted, all care is taken to have correct prices published on our site at all times, management reserves the right to cancel any order where goods are orders at price that is clearly in error under the right of supply in commercial trade law.
If we match a competitor price on any item, all bonus goods are removed from the transaction unless negotiated seperatly.

        • @solrak: they really do everything to protect themselves. i wont waste my time either, even just a couple of time.

        • @alwayseric:

Darn had 5 in my shopping cart hovering over the paypal confirm icon lol Noooooooooooo! Don't do it

        • @alwayseric: It has been added to the total amount. So if they refund, I think they should and will refund the full amount, which definitely includes the payment fee.

        • @solrak: Do it!!! At least it is Paypal, you got nothing to lose.

        • @rocklinsuv:

The DJI Inspire 1 v2 for $3200 is a decent price if you had the coin

        • @rocklinsuv:

If only I had a bigger set of nutz lol!

      • so did anyone actually go through with it? I was going to last night for funsies, but then I realised Id have to stuff around with transferring paypal balance back to account.

        • Don't bother. Just received this email from then now.

'Yes we do apologise for this error the data file was corrupt in that file and only added the price of the backpack alone'

        • @solrak:

          lameeeeeeeeeeee

  • +1

    Don't worry, it's basically a cap.
Would get it for $10 to play around with once… but not for $28.75.
    Fixed aperture, manual focus.
Your normal kit lens zooms would cover the focal length anyway.
If you were using primes, then you might want it if you didn't have around this range of depth of field… but then again if you were shooting with primes (or any other lens for that matter), why would you want this lens?

    • Because it is smaller/lighter than other lenses?

    • +1

That's very true. Better get a CCTV prime lens instead from eBay for about $30 with F/1.4 aperture.

    • There's another version of the body cap lens, a fisheye 9mm. That is heaps more useful and actually takes excellent pics. Highly recommend.

  • Bait and switch.

  • I managed to buy the 15mm F8……Anyone else?

For Nikon, not bad @ $999 - too bad the Canon one is 299 more.

  • oh, it is too late to see this deal. most of the prices are raised…
