Any good to blow dust out of a computer / computer parts?

    • +1

would be very good, just make sure you empty it (and get the water out of it after a bit of use)

    • Just use the first tank for pc each time.

    • Heard bad things about using a normal compressor without a water trap. To that end have been lusting over Canless Air devices but the huge cost prevents my purchase. They look very convenient!

      • Canless air is generally not powerful enough to get ride of fine dust in awkward places such as narrow fins of heat sink. Don't waste your money.

This product is cheaper and much better as it has a bigger motor. http://www.bacs.com.au/shop/ProductInfo_BACS.aspx?productid=…

        • Very interesting and it's non-battery too - thanks

        • that's one expensive blower. would rather go with this compressor tbh. 1/3 of the price. i'll just buy 2 and if one breaks, i got another one anyway. and still got spare cash, with higher pressure air available. not hard to choose tbh

        • @shuckeru: You may think differently after you operates this cheapo compressor.

        • @Bargain Zombies: apparently in the OP it said "heavily marked down" so i might be wrong, but this isn't a cheap compressor.

        • @shuckeru: This deal is definitely for a cheap compressor. It looks to be the same as the ones that are often about $200 with a set of air tools at SCA.

        • @coxymla: sorry i meant "cheapo". it is cheap yes, in terms of value for money.

      • Never had any issues with mine. Normal cheap compressor like this one except from SCA.
Just undo the drain plug every so often.

  • Any good to blow dust out of a computer / computer parts?

At ~$10 a can for compressed air, it wouldn't take long long to recoup your outlay (so long as you have a place to store it).

  • It is going to be very loud.

    • It is going to be very loud.

Only when it is operating, so it doesn't really matter.

Any compressor is noisy compared to not using one.

  • Remember a good quality hose and a trigger blower and tyre pump would cost about $60. So total investment is a bit for someone who only wants to use casually.

I would be interested if anyone saw any WA stock.

  • Does it suit for painting… thinking of painting the entire house inside and out.

Dude selling it for 140 on ebay… quick money…

Possible but it would be very frustrating as you would spend half of your time waiting for the pressure to build up to a suitable level. As the pressure drops off in the tank your spray gun will spit and splatter resulting in a very average looking job.

      • Thanks for the response. Looks like 46litres/minute free air delivery is not enough capacity for a painting job. Anybody knows how much minimum capacity is required for a painting job?

        • Nevermind it looks painting typically needs more than 250LPM… this would be too small and noisy to bother with…

        • +1

Long time since I've researched this stuff but I seem to recall 180l/m is about the minimum and around a 40l tank.

        • @TightBottom:

Thanks. Looks like I need something similar to this Stanley Belt driveor hire at $45 a day from Bunnings.

          @quasims:

A spray gun is not really the correct (read "easy") way to paint a house.

It would take forever to mask everything, and you'd have horrid edges where you masked.

The spray dust would go everywhere, there's be overspray and splatter. The finish would be variable, depending on how quickly the paint flashed off (dried due to surface temperature).

          Nah… use proper tools.

        • @llama:

thanks for the advice. did some research, will look for a proper paint airless sprayer instead of a compressor.

          @quasims:

By "proper tools"… I meant Roller and Brushes.

Spray painting is fast for applying the paint, but the preparation, masking and cleanup of the mess makes it pretty inefficient way for a handyperson to paint a house.

A fence - yeah, that's ideal for spray. But inside a house is NOT the place to be spraying things.

  • Anyone got one yet? How loud is it?

edit: nevermind apparently direct drive is much louder. "Quietness - A direct drive compressor is considerably louder due induction and mechanical noise from the higher speed of operation. I have seen specified noise levels of up to 98 dBa. "

  • None at footscray.
    Grabbed one at Melton.

    He said 4left

  • Just got a price match at Bunnings in Frankston. They had 1 left. Thanks niagraBzO for the deal!

  • All sold in HOBART……about 2 weeks ago at same price.

  • I bought the last one with price matching in Maribyrnong store. Thanks ozbargain.

    • They Look Identical in parts - Packaging changed - and branding to stop the 10% Identical discount
