I wouldn't buy a phone on gum tree , If its stolen and the imei gets blocked there is no way of unblocking it.

I wouldn't buy a second hand phone from Ebay but there is probably more of a chance of doing a dispute and getting back your money.
Can be had on aliexpress and even kogan for roughly the same if not cheaper.
