  • Are gratuities included at that price?

    • Prices do not include gratuities. These vary between destinations and can either be prepaid or paid onboard.

The prices do include port charges, accommodation onboard, meals while onboard and entertainment.

      Kind Regards
      MSC Cruises

      • hi, what would the gratuity be for 7 night Mediterranean cruises start from $452 pp?
        thanks.

        • Hi,

The cruise which is $452 per person is based on MSC Poesia departing from Genoa on the 6th November 2016. The itinerary includes visits to Genoa, Naples, Messina, Valletta, Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona, Marseille, Genoa.

Service charges on our Mediterranean cruises are AU$16 per person per night.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

        • @MSC Cruises:
          Thanks for replying.

    • What does that actually mean. What should I be checking for cruise deals?

      • Gratuities are essentially "tips" which are paid by each passenger and shared among employees. From my experience the rate is around US$10 per day per passenger.

Technically they aren't compulsory ….. But it is generally assumed most will pay in the absence of a good reason.

Essentially it's just a way for cruise companies to make their prices seem cheaper than they really are.

Cruise ships permanently located in Australia have gratuities built into the fares. P&O and Carnival are two such examples.

        • thanks.

Ok….lets use the 7 night $452 cruise an example. What would the daily gratuity payment be?
