Right, so what does $1405 get me…?

So what are the actual deals?

  • Looks like 1531 from Syd to Amsterdam over Christmas which isn't too bad.

  • Rip for me. Mel to London 2.1k Aug for 1 week no thank you

nice to specify UK & Europe separately #Brexit

  • I bought a Cathay fare in their last sale, early this year. Haven't taken the flight yet but two things to be aware of:
    - only 20kg baggage allowance
    - the cheapest economy sale fares cannot pre-select seats, not until the 48-hour online check-in window opens.

This latter one has me fearing being split from my wife, and both in middle seats. And will I be treated like a 'steerage class' passenger for the entire trip?

Also they count a CPAP machine as part of your carry-on allowance, not as a 'freebie' like many (most?) full-service airlines.

    • I also bought 4 seats to Japan stopping in HK for a few days in their last year sale. Similarly no pre-selection of seats allowed however it was not a problem for us.

We checked-in online 24 hours before our flight and there were plenty of seats available. Surprisingly there are a lot of passengers that rely checking in and selecting seats at the airport.

You will be treated like others in economy. Flight attendants do not know if you purchase a cheap ticket - their job is to make your trip as comfortable as possible.

  • Hi Rep when does this offer end

  • Hi Rep,

Why is that when I try to do a week stopover in Hong Kong, the price increases from $1580 to like $1980? This is for the Sydney to NY trip. I thought you guys wanted us to do a stopover!

Thank you konkon22, I have the same question. Awaiting response.

We are looking to book and found the HK stop over is an expensive option. We would do it for reasonable extra $. All up these are terrific fares for peak travel time - we are looking at Xmas to early Jan.

  • Hi Rep,

Is there an exclusion period for this deal? Trying to book Melbourne to New York on 12-Dec and coming back on 11-Jan with a stopover in HK for a week, but there's no sale. Thanks.
