Cheap Flights to Tokyo or Beijing for Oct/Nov?

HI everyone

Jetstar has had a flight for ski season for Jan/Feb to Tokyo, are they likely to have one for Oct/Nov?

Also what might be the best bet for cheap flights to Beijing for Oct/Nov?

All from Melbourne.

Thanks!

  • Skyscanner found me $517 return to Beijing on Sichuan Airlines…

I think Sichuan only flies to/from MEL three times a week - on Monday, Thursday and Saturday.

And here is a Skyscanner search for Tokyo which found $587 return on AirAsia…

  • Been trying to avoid AirAsia…..Jetstar is fine though, but no sales to Japan for Oct/Nov period yet?

Cathay also fly to Beijing for 800+, which you can stopover in HK, is that a good deal?

    • Yeah Jetstar also has direct flights to Tokyo so it's probably worth paying a little extra for that. On 1 July last year they had a Japan sale which included dates in October and November… https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/200996

Not sure if the HK stopover price is good. Do you want a HK stopover? Does it include a night in a hotel?

  • Just to break up the Beijing trip, Cathay stopover in HK anyway so that works.

    No nights in hotel though!

    • Personally I think I would prefer not to do an overnight stopover on the way to Beijing, unless it was cheaper or if it was a separate place I wanted to check out.

China is only 2 hours different to Melbourne so there's not really any jet lag.

However if you were going to USA or Europe then an overnight stop would be good and would reduce the impact of any jet lag.

If you want a stopover of one night or more, I think you could do it cheaper by going to Singapore, Bangkok or Phuket, with the current Jetstar sale, and then find another airline to get you to Beijing.
