10% off Wheels and Wheel/Tyre Packages at Ribble Cycles

70
WHEELS10

Looks like some great deals to be had possibly thanks to brexit

The Campagnolo winter wheelset package caught my eye, these are campagnolo hubs, but there are Shimano packages also.

I already own two sets of Zonda's however I'm considering, no wait one of the sets I own is currently unused, however at this price I should get another just in case, no wait…. :)

Zonda wheelset/ gatorskin tyres and conti tubes ends up at $392.84 delivered!!!

Looks like this is the AU site only, cannot change currency from AU

  • I need a cheap 28" rear hybrid wheel. As cheap as possible. Second hand considered. Any suggestions? Thanks!

    • Hard waste collection day …..lots of bikes get put out.

    • What kind of cassette are you going to put on it? I would try one of the Facebook Bike buy/swap pages. There is occasionally people there wanting to get rid of old stuff. A 2nd hand hybrid wheel would not be worth much if anything, you could put up a post asking if anyone has an old one they no longer want/need.

      Groups I regularly watch are:

Cycling Buy, Swap & Sell Australia
      Buy/Sell Road Cycling Victoria
      Bicycle Market

I would post in the group WTB (wanted to buy) 28" wheel for hybrid. Need a cheap wheel, cheap as possible for my hybrid.

Somebody with an old/spare one sitting around the garage will get back to you. There is a chance someone would offer to give you one for free if you come around and pick it up.

      • Thanks for taking the time to reply. Unfortunately I don't do Facebook. I'll see what I can do.

  • +1

Looks like some OK deals there, Schwalbe one tyres are ridiculously cheap, my LBS sells the Scwalbe 1's for $100 a tyre. A twin pack for $75 ish is a good bargain. I bought 2 last week from Merlin for about $120 thinking that was a good deal!

I have lost faith with Ribble, they used to be my favourite go-to place for my bike obsession. Since the original owners sold out to big business a few months ago and they setup their Australian website I have noticed that they have been imposing the 'Australia Tax' on loads of things (ie if you go in via a VPN and check the UK price on their UK website then go onto their australian website and check the exact same item there is a noticeable price difference). One poster over on a cycling forum wrote to them and they replied telling him that suppliers had mandated to them minimum prices for selling into Australia….in other words Australia Tax. We were better off before they had an Australian website. Add to that their new web page is awful and their prices have generally risen across the board. They used to be the cheapest for most bits I was after, now they are most often behind the likes of Wiggle, Evans and Merlin (Leaving CRC off the list as they are essentially Wiggle now since being bought out).

    • You are contradicting yourself in your comments you realise :) Not that I disagree
My gripe with Ribble is their postage is not up to par with Wiggle, ie. untracked on smaller orders.

wiggle Zonda wheelset $450.69 aud (paying in GBP) just the wheelset… @ Wiggle

      $38 x 2 rigid gators
      $6 x 2 tubes
      = $88

      $392.84 - $88 = $304.84

Doing the rough math I'm selling myself on buying again…

  • $304 is a great deal on the zondas. I have seen them selling for more 2nd hand. My current trick is to go to PBK, use the code ITK10 (which seems to work on anything for 10% off) then pay in GBP instead of AUD. Works out about $380 for the zondas after currentcy conversion but they only have a campy hub version.

    • I think you mean $304 AUD right :)

Yesterday I got ultegra pedals from PBK for £53.35 using code SHIM10 which makes them around $96 aud + %3 cashback from cashrewards

      • Yep AUD. Best deal I have seen on there is the Tacx Vortex Zwift compatible trainer for under $400 if you use my trick above. Most of my mates are paying nearly $2K each for Wahoo Kickers.

        • Australian's should assume $ are Australian.

        • @tightwad: yes looks like the £ sign was edited, thanks for the effort tho
