  • OP - Are any of these 'short-dated' ?

    • Most of these have 2017/2018 expiry except for the Lipo-6 which reaches its best before date in 3-4 months so still plenty of time left

    • Interesting you should say that.

From the last sale on here, I received 2 out of 3 items what I believe are short-dated, I lodged a dispute with them and they disagree… And they don't think they should advise (publish) customers when products are within 3 months of the Expiry Date.

      • I'm just reading the dispute logs and I don't see any mention of us saying anything about 3 months? I suppose short-dated is a subjective term, in either case we will happily refund orders if they are not of expected quality. If stock reaches its Best Before date we definitely let customers know beforehand what they are buying (eg. Come Ready Bar deals). We will take your feedback on board to improve our service

        • The term used was:

          multiple months.

Both products I received were 3 and 4 months away from expiry dates respectively (and they were not Best Before Dates, made O/S). I suppose multiple months is a subjective term too.

No info was posted on the last deal about anything being short dated and nothing on the site before buying and my opinion is this:

3-4 months away from expiry is short. I look at it from a percentage perspective a lot of supplements are made with a 3 year time span eg.

          Manufactured: 03/2013
          EXP Date: 03/2016

This above is an example taken from Optimum Nutrition, but is fairly common.

Now, if I receive something that is 2.5 years or more past the Manufacture date, yes I think it's short dated stock (and old stock). Regardless of whether or not it may last on the shelf XX months or even X years to come.

        • @nismo: I can see your point, but then where do you draw the line between new and old? It would be unfair to demand newly manufactured stock especially when we as the retailer can't control whether the stock we receive is new or old depending on the distributor.

          @AnthraxXx:

My opinion, perhaps ~80% past the manufacture date, if known.

It's not about demanding new stock, it's about being aware when purchasing that the expiry date is near, when this is relevant.

Some stores publish the date on products, during advertised sales, you don't need to say it's short dated if you don't believe it is, but at least give customers the knowledge (exp date) to make the decision themselves.

I've seen Amino Z do it in March this year with stock expiring in September this year.

So that example has approx 6 months remaining. It was a pre workout & not specifically mentioned as short dated.

Conversely, if a product has around a year or more til the date, I absolutely do not think it's necessary to specify the dates.

Logic and reason, really. A lot of people who take supplements (especially people on here) are well stocked up & don't wish to buy short dated stuff unless it's ridiculously cheap…

  • Bought some items last time, order arrived next day. OP answered some of my questions and helped out. So I recommend pulse based on my experience so far. Will be buying again.

Can you do the same special on on gold 2.2kg for $64 you had running on June?

  • OP - can you please confirm the expiry date of the PHD banana and chocolate 5LBS?

    • +1

For reference: I bought the PHD Pharma 2lb Chocolate in the last deal and it has a 2018 expiry, can't recall the month off the top of my head (maybe it was early 2018).

This was the only item in my order that wasn't short dated.

  • Got some fat burner and muscle milk :)
