Parking Fine- What to Do

Hi all

Got a parking fine for being literally 1 minute late to my car. The ticket machine was the one you put coins in and counts down time remaining so don't have a printed ticket to say how much I put in and all that to back me up. I did speak to the issuing officer but he couldn't do anything because the ticket was already issued and that I would need to appeal it. He did write a note on the system that I was only a minute late. So I wrote an appeal letter explaining what happened but this was rejected. Is it worth taking to court for a 79 dollar fine? What are the extra costs involved?

Thanks

Nah, not worth it. Just pay it.

pay it. I know its a bugger but pay.

Pay it, one minute is still unpaid. You've admitted guilt, so you'll get nowhere in court. It's like saying I was only 1km/h over the limit.

This fine is much cheaper than parking in a non-parking zone say.

  • Thanks all for the feedback. Fine is paid now. Fk you city of Melbourne!

  • Just to answer your question, in QLD, similar situation, took it to court, lost, boom…$1,700 legal and court fees!! Good that you paid it.
