Just letting you guys know my experience with the 2 i have bought, the steps counter varies wildly i went for a walk with my wife and it counted around 4000 steps for me she got a whopping 8000+ on hers, there was (up24 or soemthing) versions your could calibrate but this is not one of them.
Luckily we didn't pay much for them so its no big loss but if you want something a bit more accurate maybe pay a bit extra for some other features like HR monitor (which should come with the new Xiaomi band 2) or even gps if you cycle etc.
anywho just my 2cents worth…
Are you a lot taller than your wife? maybe she is shorter and actually does more steps!
My friend who is shorter always keeps complaining that she has to walk twice as much… wonder if this myth is really true or not…
dunno i thought that, yes i'm taller than her but that's just a crazy difference in steps. I did read another article online with the owner also experiencing the same thing, he said your better off just shaving 30% off the steps and distance.
I can see how they would be reviewed favorably if you had just one but when there are multiple and you see how crazy the difference in the calculations are you just stop trusting them (at $39 i know there's not much trust you can put in them ..hehehe) … the sleep tracking is not bad though, in its defense and the app is nice and easy to use :)
maybe you can wear both if those do same thing?
