  • Yes, this is very cheap. Thanks, TA.

South Melbourne markets, $2 for a pack of 7. Two weeks ago. Last weekend it as $2.50.

  • I stopped buying avos when the farmers decided to jack up the prices for. $4 each or something at woolies was just rediculous a few months ago. Has supply suddenly exploded and theyve been forced to lower prices again?

$4 @ Woolworths. Woolworths jacked up the prices. Farmers might have asked for an extra 5 cents per fruit but WW added the extra $2….

Aldi had a similar price a month ago

      • To be fair, every 2nd week Woolworths are 2 for $4 (this week $1.80 each) - annoys me more when ACA directly compares prices on Woolies' decent avos with Aldi's rock hard tiny ones.

        • I gotta stand up for Aldi avocados - I think they stack up pretty well in my experience!

$1.99 per kilo for imperfect range at Harris farm markets. (Nsw)less 50% Amex gift card purchased is the cheapest for me

  • Hmm I wonder how much farmers actually charge? Would it be per kilo?

Still Too expensive, In Thailand I bought avocados for $.10 each and no one wanted to buy it.

  • my local woolies had bags of them for $4/kg. The number in each bag ranged between 6-9 depending on the size of avocados.

Thats a sydney area though, not Vic

    • and yet i dont know why i bought a bag… already had 2 packs from my local IGA on the bench

  • That sounds cheap enough to actually by enough to make a decent amount of guacamole. Avocados are usually priced at a point where it scares me off, so I don't buy any at all, as opposed to making it a more reasonable price where I would actually buy some regularly.

  • Why avocados are so expensive?

  • they look small though.

If you live in Melbourne and near any Asian or cheap market areas (Springvale, Footscray, Richmond, Dandenong) you can find avocado for $2-3/ per kg

  • Bugger, whenever I don't get the IGA catelog there are always good deals.

  • 50c each at the IGA in the Canberra city last time i checked. They are loose so you can pick whatever ripeness you want and no minimum.

  • Anyone in Brisbane, travel to St Ive's at Goodna, $0.39 for a Haas avocado. Reasonable good size too.
Or the Brisbane Markets on Saturday, a few stalls have reasonable priced produce.
Or the Fernvale Markets on Sunday, local farmers bring their produce.

  • 3 pieces at $3.69 here. Thats not good! Catalogue though as per post. Country Vic
