    A hotmail email address and no ABN?

    No.

    Yeah mate it really does only cost $20 a month for a domain name, and you can use google apps for free to get an email address at that domain and maybe $10 a month for hosting.

    Questionable legitimacy, amateur business looking for free promotion.

    • Agreed… just some guy trying to get a bit of free advertising. Not a bargain.

  • This looks like an amateur home business. Hence the lack of an ABN and a street address.

  • This may explain further -> http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/23486

    Go down to the bottom of the thread where the OP makes a comment about their business.

  • I agree, NO fixed Line, NO ABN, NO real address. Just free advertising :-( Regardless of what is stated in the post. It's all a bit incomplete for my money.

  • Thanks mad1dude.
    I talk to my customers over the phone and we will also eventually meet in person as I will personally deliver the items to you. Everything is tested and working before handing it over to you and that can be confirmed when you try it before you even pay. I'm just a newbie, not a scammer.

  • I think the extent to which this is a bargain or not depends on his prices with respect to other retailers, because 5% ordinarily doesn't qualify as a bargain here on OzBargain. However he's clearly a small business trying to make it. From the other thread:

    Check out www.compulse.yolasite.com for some good deals on computers in the Brisbane area. I made the website only a few days ago so it isn’t completely finished but you can still request a quote or purchase the displayed systems. I do pretty much what some of these comments suggest, I go around buying parts and then build the computer. Also, because I do this with just another a friend of mine, we only charge a very small amount for the assembly fee because it is more of a side job for us. All the parts are 100% new, fully working and tested before sale. We charge $1 per km for delivery :D However, that is us to you then back.

    That said, I think the OP could probably do himself some favours with regard to supplying prospective buyers with information. If the personal touch is your edge, then that's what you should be advertising: there are plenty of cheap PC manufacturers out there, but not many give personalised attention.
