  • Reviews say Puma sizes run small so buy bigger than normal. Is that your experience?

    • +1

I have bought one pair before. It's in U.S. Size. Buy one size larger than your usual size here.

      • Isn't US size bigger than ours, or smaller? I always thought US size 10 = AU size 10.5, no?

Edit: I have just seen even OP says:

Note: US footwear sizes are one size greater than UK/AU sizes.

.. so I am kinda confused about the size conversion between US and UK/AU.

        • Only the men's size are one higher..women's are the same as us

        • +1

@stockastics: That will only further add to the confusion. I saw in other forums people saying their sizes are bigger than ours, and a couple of times I saw people here on OB saying they're actually smaller. And now you're saying it's the US men's sizes that are bigger, but the women's sizes are similar to AU sizes. Hmm!

@AussieDaddy: I have bought us size shoes many times..I usually wear Aus/UK 10..which is equivalent of US Mens 11..Wife wears 7.5 AU which is equivalent of US 7.5…There are handy conversion charts available if you google.. cheers

        • @stockastics: Thanks, mate. I also wear AU size 10 and have just bought US size 11 from this deal. I know they're cheap shoes and won't compete with Asics in quality, but I hope they'll be good enough for my evening walks and such. Fingers crossed!

      • +2

Yep, what WNK said. Use the UK size as the AU equivalent on the COTD chart. I made this mistake and bought a pair of US 8.5 and they were way too small.

      • I just want to confirm that US size is 1 larger than UK.

        From my shoe: http://imgur.com/9XW560y
        US 12
        UK 11
        EUR 46
        cm 30

        • The sizes given in the deal links are US sizes. If you are UK 11 buy the size 12 from COTD.

  • $9.95 Standard Postage is killing the deal - Nice catch though .. thanks mate

Have to buy a few pairs :) or signing up to club catch trial to get free shipping over $50.

      • Agree. I ended up Signing Up to Club Catch to avail the free shipping over $50.00. You wont be charged for the membership fee until after a month from now. You can cancel the trial membership within that period.

        • +1

I was wondering, I did the same thing (i.e. signing up for Club Catch), but there's already a pending transaction to Club Catch on my bank account. Does that mean if I cancel it before the end of the thirty days I'll get refunded, or this initial transaction will eventually drop off in a couple of days and I'll be charged again if I don't cancel the subscription before the end of thirty days? I thought to cancel it as soon I placed my order, but got worried they might cancel my order since it hasn't been shipped yet.

        • +1

really?!?! did the pending transaction from Club Catch appeared on your bank account appeared right after you signed up and provided your cc/debit card no?. because mine did not. well, so far at least (for about 5 hours now). actually sir i dont know anything about this because its my first time signing up to Club Catch today. but one thing is very clear though it clearly states on their terms and condition that they will not charge you any membership fee whatsoever within 30 days starting from the day you registered otherwise it will be a violation of terms and condition on their end. just monitor it for a few days and see what happens. i'll do the same thing with mine. thanks for the heads up though.

EDIT: i just checked my club catch subscription (https://www.catchoftheday.com.au/my-account/club-catch-subsc…) it says that i'm under free tial and will charge me aud 69.00 starting August 13, 2016 (approx. a month from now) also you can check the terms and condition of club catch here: https://www.catchoftheday.com.au/club-catch-terms just to have a peace of mind. :) clear states there there is no membership fee during trial period.

@Mstenchavez: Yeah, it showed up right after I signed up for Club Catch, before I even made a purchase. Well, I'll wait until I receive my order (or even as soon as I receive the shipment email) and then cancel the subscription straight away haha. Thanks for the info and links anyway.

        • @AussieDaddy: I think you may have signed up to Club Catch and not the free trial because my CC didn't get a pending payment when I signed up. Under My Account ClubCatch subscription does yours say free trial ends in certain number of days and if you don't cancel it will charge you $69?

        • +1

@adr8: Yes, it does say that it will charge me $69 after the trial period, though there's already $69 pending in my account. It also says after the first thirty days I can still ask for a full refund after another 60 days if I don't use Club Catch during that time, or something along that line. About a year ago I signed up for Club Catch when there was a sale going on and I don't think there was any initial transaction from my account or anything. I'll try to contact them tomorrow and see what's up.

        • +1

@adr8: O shit! I think you're right. I replied little bit quick in my other reply to you, as I was reading the link of their Club Catch T&Cs, and not my actual account. Looks like the link they offered me when I added items to my cart early was the actual Club Catch membership and not the trial, because in my account this is what it shows:

          Your Club Catch details

          Price: $69.00
Membership commenced: Thu 14 Jul 2016
Membership auto renewal: Fri 14 Jul 2017
Days until auto renewal: 364 days

Bloody *ssholes! I am canceling it right now and will contact them tomorrow. Cheeky bastards! :x

  • Got 4 pairs of shoes..thanks

    Cheers!

    • I got negged for saying thank you? o.O

      • +1

That's OzB for you. I'll neutralize it, though I might get negged myself for doing so lol.

        • Now someone negged you lol. I'll +1 it.

        • -4

@TheOneWhoKnocks: And now you got negged also mwahahaha. Here's +1 to make up for it.

      • I got negged for saying thank you? o.O

Mate, this is Ozbargain. I get negged all the time. Don't get too upset if that happens.

      • negged this comment for whinge :)

Make sure you read the negative reviews to know what you're buying. Saves having to return for a refund.

My track record with shoes bought from COTD for me- boots actually- 3 pairs bought- 2 pair given to brother- 1 pair given to op shop.

    Still in thongs.

  • L

  • Bought some CHEAP shoes. Thanks OP!

  • Are these shoes the same as ones sold by Aust. Retailers? I bought some New Balance a while back from COTD and they were low quality and undersized. Made me wonder if they make special "outlet quality" shoes to sell through this sort of outlet…

  • +3

    $9.95 shipping always kills COTD.

    • Usually does…It's why I try to wait until there is other things I want..But then there is always the risk of the thing running out…But I feel like things don't run out as quickly like they used to when the site was actually full of better bargains.

      • I usually window shop online on the US stores to look at pricing. Almost everywhere offers free shipping inside the US. Here you're lucky to find anywhere unles it's over a certain amount which is usually more than you're wiling to spend anyway.

  • As per usual for Catch of the day, only great prices are cheap crap, then postal $ kills it anyway.

Most of their deals these days are prices you can get anywhere on the web.

  • I tried the Descendent V3 (mens) and can confirm that they are definitely 1 size larger than my usual.

  • thanks OP.

  • +4

They be some ugly ass shoes

  • Bought a pair, completely forgot about size difference comment. Was able to straight away edit order but only for .5 size difference so fingers crossed they fit.

  • Thanks, the girlfriend got a few tops and trackydacks. Sucks the shipping was $9.95 but still a good price.

  • always scared of buying clothes or shoes online coz i'd rather try it in store, shoes normally i can fit in a 8 or 9 weirdly depending on the brand so thats why i find it hard to buy it online

What's with these sites with full browser-width stores. It's a nightmare to view on large screens.

  • -1

Puma were once reliable with their universal shoe sizing. However that day has passed, probably in part to the expansion of manufacturing locations, and it may be safer to go with that extra +.5 or +1 sizing. Usually a very comfortable shoe with good width, the last pair of decent puma's I bought were unwearable because of this difference, and these cheapos CotD are flogging my guess will be in that boat. YMMV.

  • +2

Even with the postage $22 is nice and cheap for a pair of Pumas. Thanks OP!

  • +1

Kudos for the post! We bought four pairs, no-brainer really despite the shipping…$19.90 adult Puma shoes and $11 for toddlers what more can you want. People complaining about the shipping - ask yourself if you'd go with your choice of shoe with $9.99 extra, that's really the decision.

WNK(via Nick) good on ya mate!
