While free delivery is good, the prices seem quite high (to me anyway).

    e.g.:
    250g - $12.90
    1KG - $47.90
    3KG - $115.90

Yes, you are right, they are not your Harris supermarket coffee prices, and the product isnt either - they really cant be compared like that. Supermarkets and Deli's sell their premium coffees for $14/250g, so really we are delivering gourmet fresh roasted to order coffee for the same cost (or less) than pre-packaged coffee. Think of a premium deli product, or what you would find at the gourmet food markets.

I think its a great way to taste the difference.

    Thanks.

    • Just ordered a sample pack, I love coffee and will give you guys a try!

      Thanks!

      Mc,

      • Thank you MC!

And the bargain is? This is just an ad for yet another coffee supplier.

    • +1

Goodness me, did we get out of bed the wrong side? The bargain is free shipping. Says that in the title. Not an ad.

      • Too much of a hurry I didn't notice the free shipping. Now is there a way to retract my negative? Can't find one.

    • +1

only decent while free shipping is on. Prices seem a bit dearer than Toby's Estate (for example).

A bargain site is not simply an offer site.

  • +1

If the quality justifies the price, give 'em a go. Support small businesses rather than pumping more cash into supermarket chains with massive buying power, when you can.

    • While I'm all for giving small businesses a go, this is supposed to be a bargain site, not a 'Give Small Businesses a Go" site.

      • This company hand roasts its own coffee and the goods it is offering are therefore quite unique. The prices are high for coffee compared to bad supermarket stuff, but they're quite reasonable for high end coffee beans. Free shipping makes it a bargain for those who are shopping for high end coffee.

If you've tried their coffee and don't think it's worth the money, then please say so, I think that's a fair negative.

Otherwise, why are you negging something you don't know about? I don't even understand your "A bargain site is not simply an offer site" comment.

"I don’t even understand your “A bargain site is not simply an offer site” comment."

The internet is full of offer & coupon sites.

An offer or coupon of 5% off something, or, shipping included in the asking price, is not necessarily a bargain.

OzBargain is specifically a bargain site. It is interactive and if members think something is a bargain they will vote it up, and if they think it doesn't belong they will neg it.

I'd like to see OzBargain remain a genuine bargain site; I don't want to have to wade through 100 pages of ad dross to find a genuine bargain. At one time Buckscoop went down the supermarket 50 cents off here, save $3.50 there path, to it's detriment.

So hopefully OzBargaineers will continue to hunt down the genuine deals & weed out the dross.

Submissions like this coffee one etc, possibly belong in the forum, if anywhere.

          • @Horizon: You make good points, but I'll simply say what might not be a bargain for you, may be a bargain for others. I don't really know much about LCD TVs but I'm not about to neg one because it's expensive!

  • For the gift packs and subscription items, is it possible to have them shipped later in the year rather than have them shipped this month?

    • +1

Thats what I have come to love about OzBargain, firstly as a member, now as a contributor - the community and the community feedback is a great part of Oz Bargain!

This is a great idea, to have subscriptions and giftpacks triggered on a pre-specified date. I will make it happen in the next few days. please check back again soon.

      thanks
      James, Bay Beans.

Looks like it's always free shipping - what's the bargain here?

    • Hi,

      Up until today, shipping charges were;

      $5.90 upto 500g
      $9.90 upto 3kg
      $19.90 upto 10kg

So, the savings are no shipping charges on any items in the store. Depending on how well this idea is received, we may extend the free shipping promo.

  • Has the sample pack pricing gone up, I thought that when I had a look last week (when the $5 cashback was offered) the sample pack was priced at $19.90? I could be wrong, so just thought I'd ask the question….

    • Hi. The sample pack was $29.80, now it's $23 including free delivery. Thanks.

  • +1

Cool, sorry for the confusion and thanks for the offer, will go place my order now to give it a try :)

  • Don't see a bargain here… Would rather buy Lavazza at $20 to $30 p/kg or Robert Timms @ $20 per 1.5 kg (at Woollies now).
Looks like this is just an ad…No deal from me.

    • Hi Bob19.

Thats okay - though please understand, we are not selling supermarket coffee.

Some people are happy owning and driving a commuter car, because all they use their car for is to commute - its pointless to own a Mercedes for that purpose, and most likely impractical. BUT, some people love to drive Mercedes and will take any opportunity. I fall into the first category.

The smart ones, in my opinion, are those that save their money on things that dont make a difference, and use a portion of those savings to enjoy the Mercedes in other walks of life, like the Mercedes of the coffee world, because they choose to.

      have a great day!. James.
