  • Raise your hand if you have a Jetstar Mastercard (so you can post the link for this sale like last time plz) :)

So if it's only for jetmail members why are you posting it here. Any jetmail members will recieve an email anyway but anyone who is not can't get this deal so where's the bargain???

    • take it easy there

    • +2

There is no bargain, doesn't even need to be on here.

    • Your negative vote should be cancelled per the guidelines as this deal not apply to you. Mods…

Agreed - neg vote by Flobbit cancelled - if you to vote negative - then dont waste it by not following guidelines Read them to understand why.

And for the others, Petty censorship of deals that others might find useful is just plain mean to many here. Do you even think Jetstar cares what you think? Or to anyone here who might fly Jetstar? The only people impacted are the other ozbargainers.

And no I dont have a Jetstar MC or have or will be flying Jetstar at this time. I dont have friends who work there or Family, or shares.

The only shares I am interested in is letting others share bargains here. If it doesn't suit you leave it alone. as per the recommendations in our negative voting guidelines.

Jetstar are becoming very anally retentive, needing to buy (Mastercard fees)something of them to get a deal. Losers.

?? This is called doing business. Are you hater of iphones? Apple has exactly the same business model with the apps and itunes (unless you hack the phone of course). Microsoft killed off netscape doing the same thing with internet explorer.

If you look it at another way - isn't this rewarding loyalty?

Kiwipride - again not a valid negative vote read the guidelines url listed above.

Sorry, I've got to vote negative for the first time ever on OzBargain - this offer is only available to such a ridiculously small percentage of people (thos who have a Jetstar Mastercard) that I don't feel it's a bargain at all.

    • -1

While vote stands _ where in the rules is that a deal must appeal to a percentage of bargain hunters here, maybe you would like to point that out. 20% of mobile phones are iphones - well that give s80% the right to neg vote iphone postings, then there's xbox, WII, PC Mac Kelloggs Pizzas Vegetarians smokers, the only thing would be taxes as they apply to most here, but then they aren't bargains are they.

Comments are fair game, as they put your opinion there for others to consider,. The vote just hides the deal - and irony of irony, it hides your comments so no one sees them. So leaving the vote alone and making the comment gets your point across further.

  • If its anything like the last sale, you dont even need to be a Mastercard holder or Jetmail member. The link was leaked and the whole public was able to purchase the sale fares.

Negative for me too… I didnt fly with jetstar coz of the ridiculous charges on any credit card other than Master…

Tiger's low-fare deals are available if you pay via MasterCard -debit- card; this one's UNCOMPETITIVE, by contrast.

Has a $30,000 Minimum Income Req't; it's Socially UNJUST: discriminates, eg, against many Aboriginals, pensioners, et al.

May require a purchase (or is a MasterCard free here?) Compare to ING Direct's Visa debit card promo: ING paid us $60!

This one smells, & the odor is now associated with BOTH JetStar AND MasterCard (for agreeing to such a shoddy non-deal_.

    horrible deal.

    • -2

Read the guidelines - vote wasted.

  • huh im not voting negative

    $49 annual fee
    6 cent flights
    $100 voucher

    open to anyone and everyone.

i think its a good deal for someone who flies. and hmm i saw a flightcentre voucher a few days ago, i see tiger deals here all the time,

david jones deals get posted. $99 annual fee, $200 vouchers.

if you dont like jetstar, say so, but dont neg it. jetstar fees are there for all to read when buying, its not hidden or something we need to be warned of.

so yes it is a bargain, it is open to everyone, and credit card fees would be under 10 bucks

    • How is it open to everyone when you are required to earn over $30,000?

      • -1

Just think - read the deal - if you are under $30K you can still apply - then you are eligible for the deal. You just wont get the Mastercard.

        • -1

Dude, I earned over 30k last quarter. My point is that having "conditions" makes this no deal. (just think)

  • how many oz bargainer's have this card. 0.02%?

    • -1

Did you read the voting guidelines, its nothing to do with the number of ozbargainers who have this card. How many live in Tasmania or Outer Kakadu? Your vote isnt valid. Read the voting guidelines.

      • ozpete, on what basis do you choose which neg vote stands and which doesn't?

        • You read the voting guidelines. Simple in most cases.

          • @zhenjie: So Wampus neg vote was ok but not mine? Can you explain why?

            • @kiwipride: Good point and glad you raised it.

As I said that vote was marginal, I guess it could have gone either way. Then I also had to make the decision that with so many negative votes would it be in interest of everyone to delete every vote. Yours came first (it wasnt personal).

And then on the other side, every negative vote was based on the assumption that all bargains have to suit everyone, which is a fallacy. So yes if I had a bit more "guts" I guess I would have deleted his as well.

I do hope people will realise that voting negative isn't necessary when it reflects a personal opinion (comments that reflect this are always welcome in a post, as long as they are not misleading or obviously inaccurate or offensive)

With so many people here, refraining from a vote is just as effective, you see some posts with only 1 vote, and thats an effective indicator to many that the deal isn't that great.

Finally as a "human" I guess I can make errors of judgment as well. Hope this helps.

              • @[Deactivated]: Sorry Pete, feel free to change my neg vote if you feel it necessary.

Perhaps I should word it as :

"I don't feel this is a good deal because in order to get the deal, you have to sign up for a credit card which may not be suitable for you, it's a pretty major decision to get a credit card and it's not worth it simply for the chance of getting cheap flights (we all know how hard it is to book those!)"

This is my first neg vote ever and I didn't do it lightly :) Keep up the good work Pete
