will this work after an update? thought apple killed off most cheap 3rd party cables

YES it works with the latest iOS.
      Thank you

You didn't answer the question. Is this an MFI licenced cable as your pictures on ebay imply?

        • Its not MFI certified if you're looking for that. It's however "made for iPhone iPad etc" in the sense it will plug in and may/may not work.

          @kid-vhee:

          Its not MFI certified

          No MFi, No deal…

        • Most likely won't…

Your picture shows the Apple MFi logo - if the cable is not Apple MFi certified you better remove it otherwise it. You can't use that logo or the statement without the product being appropriately licenced by Apple

Don't trust the "works with" statement. I have been burnt quite a few times. These cheaper cables almost ALWAYS fails anytime between 1 day to 2 months. I'd suggest getting the more expensive Apple certified cables, its better in the long run and spare yourself the headache.

    • Loving my ANKUR cables from Amazon. FAR better than Apple originals and less than half the price.

Here is the link to the "official MFI list" https://mfi.apple.com/MFiWeb/getFAQNDA.action

After a lot of testing of numerous suppliers, I've settled on the AICase cheapies from local ebay sellers. Last night grabbed another 3 x 1.5m for $13.89 = $4.63 each. They are cheaper in larger quantities.

MFI is OK so far… works on the usual hard ones like iPad Mini iOS9. Have tried on iPhone 5, iPhone 6, iPad 2, iPad Air, etc and all are 100% perfect no warnings.

To be honest I doubt that they are really MFI for that price, but the clone chip is very good.

3.48mm diameter cord, none have broken in a few months use. Recommended, and no entry required in the Chinese Lottery.

Search ebay for 252448754607 - note I cannot remember if this is where I got my first few batches, but there won't be any fakes on ebay, right? :-)

        • Thanks for your advice, have ordered some.

      • I wish Anker would ship their 10ft cables to AU.

  • who can recommend some MFI cables for cheap?

    so far so good

YMMV. Mine died after a few months. No fraying, no physical damage, but not charging.

  • Not MFI certified. No deal. Box it comes in also looks cheap and nasty, so cable most likely is too.
