    For those that are curious: TN Panel and 60Hz FreeSync

      thank you, your one line is more informative than that massive wall of text.

      • Subtle. Fixed.

          I actually liked all the extra info, for example USB 3.0 charging ports, caught my eye and I had all the info there about it, I think a compromise would be short specs up top, elaboration on the bottom, I really don't see the harm in the extra info (especially for those who can't click on eBay at work).

          So thanks OP for making any effort at all and bringing a good bargain to our attention.

    Bought one of these myself when the sale started. Beautiful monitor. Only thing to keep in mind is that it uses a TN panel, 'cause of this the viewing angle is terrible. If you go to the left or right then you get a lot of discolouration. There is some input lag in 4k mode as well. Not a lot but it's noticeable. With freesync on there's barely any input lag.

    My monitor also has many dead pixels. Contacted Futu Online about it on Wednesday night and they haven't responded yet but I'm guessing they've been pretty busy with the sale.

    • Got this during the last sale. Great monitor but the viewing angles suck. Even staring straight ahead, you will notice discolouration from the top to the bottom of the screen.

      I got this monitor last sale from FU-tu and it is indeed a very nice monitor but had a bright green stuck pixel close to the lower/middle. Samsung has a 0 dead pixel policy and I had the monitor assessed at a Samsung repair centre. They agreed. Said it should be replaced. Samsung does NOT have replacement and they will offer the lower spec 590 model or a refund (or store credit).
      I chose refund. Fu-tu will just tell you to contact Samsung so they are useless.
      Open a live talk with Samsung and they will help you out.

      • Cheers. Fu-tu got back to me and that's basically what they said. Contact Samsung.

    28" is too small for a 4k monitor imho

      Yeah pixel density at this size 1440p is enough imo…

      4k => 40" like the Phillips.

      If you're using it with a terrible operating system that can't handle scaling properly then it might be.

      4K does not automatically equal more screen real estate.

    • Depends. I'm using this with my Mac with scaling and it looks dope.

    • Tell that to apple who made a 5k 27" iMac haha

  • Now that the Radeon 400 series and GeForce 10 series support DisplayPort 1.4, I'm excited for the next generation of monitors: we should see FreeSync or G-Sync-capable 3840x2160 panels with maximum refresh rates of 144Hz. If AMD and NVIDIA finally get around to allowing us to disable filtering when scaling 1920x1080 (2x) and 1280x720 (3x) video, 4K panels will be fantastic.
