Anti-Fog / Moisture Absorbing Sheets for Sony (and Maybe Other) Action Cameras $5 @ Harvey Norman

110

I suspect only a small number of people will find this interesting but for some reason Harvey Norman are pushing out Sony AKA-AF1 anti-fog sheets for $5 where RRP is $29 and next cheapest on Staticice is $19. Apparently reuseable up to 200 times each! (2 sheets in pack)

Looks like it'll fit all Sony action camera cases and I reckon you'd be able to stuff it into other action camera cases.

Great for people who are using swim/dive housings which are notorious for fogging up with temperature change.

Also if you just like things dry!

  • even at $5 they would be making a profit, how much would it cost to make two of these.. over priced accessories.
Good price compared to normal though.

How dare people who sell stuff make money!

I was meaning how extremely over priced they are to start with.

  • it'll fit into any case, despite what the salespeople at videopro will tell you. buy cheapest.

  • I guess in theory any of those 'do not eat' silica gel things from dry foods would be ok…

    • In Nobbs' link below, there is one of those silica gel bags in the package containing the anti-fog sheets. It's marked "Throw away".
If your theory is right, this product is the ultimate con!

      • According to the very reliable resource WikiHow, we're all suckers and should be re-using them…

Haha I agree with the commment about that eBay post though… why would the anti-moisture sheets need a drying agent haha…

        • But after drying how would you use them again? What kind of packet can you store them in where they would still keep absorbing moisture.

  • I Polish my knob with this

  • I guess cheap Chinese knockoff from eBay would be similar? They just look smaller to me but probably is just the picture

    • I like to believe that the official branded product is actually significantly better than the $1 eBay knock-offs (but granted that isn't always the case). I decided to go branded because it was 83% off. Compared with the regular price I would've gone generic.

  • Should fit ok in the GoPro? Anyone tested.
