Probably one of the better things to come out of America of late.

Shame to see masters are coming to an end. Always get great service from them and will drive 30 mins out of my way over bunnings.

  • If recall correctly, Sherwin Williams was THE premium paint in the US, but that knowledge is coming back 30 years plus.

  • This paint as good as delux?

  • This paint is quite good, ive just done 2 houses with it. I will be stocking up on more with this special. I bought last time it was 2/4/1's and worked out to be $5/lt

  • Shame to see masters are coming to an end.

Woolworths announced they are exiting the hardware business and intend to sell off the business. There are a number of interested parties in talks with them now about this. Where have they said they are closing down Masters?

    • Speculation is best bid will be GPT property who will buy the business for the properties only and lease them out. Not many other companies will want to pay up to buy a business that is bleeding money.

Any startup will bleed money, Woolworths doesn't have the appetite to wait for Masters to turn a profit but others will especially if they get it for the right price.

    • well noone wants to buy the business…. some are interested in the sites eg costco so they are slowly liquidating stock with a view to close.

Bollocks, if this was the case Woolworths would have announced a fire sale of stock and closed the stores.

        • They can't sell the stores yet as they haven't come to an agreement with Lowes on cost of put option Lowes exercised

        • @chumlee:

I didn't say sell the stores but if your claim is correct and there are ZERO purchasers for the business they would have a fire sale and close the stores immediately.

        • My mistake. I was suppose to say they can't close the stores until they settle the put option value with Lowes. No fire sale either as this will lower the value for Lowes so they won't agree to it.

  • $37 for 970 ml.Must be good for that price!
