  • Sounds exactly like the Optus deal?

    • +2

No, with the Optus deal you get to keep 10GB after the 12 months.

Isn't this in fact a degrade of a plan? It used to have unlimited minutes to 10 countries in the same plan until last month or so and that without any contract.

  • I wanted to get myself off Voda and onto optus, this may encourage me to stay. Perhaps a call to Cancellations is in order.

    • I was looking at this vs optus, but vodaphone doesn't cover my potential new area (Hawthorn) so optus it was.

      • Do you live in a basement?
I live in Hawthorn and Optus was a joke for coverage

In fact i believe in some parts of hawthorn Optus boosts their network with Voda towers (as per their sharing arrangement)

        • I'm very close to the station, no service from anyone though I'm hoping to get week trials.

  • Previous Vodafone "deal" got "-4" votes

    • Cause it wasn't a deal.

      • indeed.
No deal for me since Vodafone restricted international calls only to selected countries.
NodeMobile from Internode is the one I am looking to try when my Vodafone contract ends in 2 weeks. $39.99/mth, 7GB, $300 included international calls, month to month, no lock in for 12 months.

        • which one is internode reselling?

        • @baronseng: Unless things has changed it was Optus

        • +1

Internode will come into line with Optus countries soon.
Not sure where i read it (maybe whirlpool) but all companies selling Optus netwrok have to match countries offered by Optus by Nov 1

Can you do $5 per day roaming with this deal?

    • Yes

More than happy to sign up for this if it was month to month. Not really interested to be locked for 12 months, especially when most providers are fighting for more new customer.

    • Ora three or six-month contract….

      • Three sounds reasonable to me :) Tbh this deal looks very cheap especially if you are student, for $35 only and 10gb data and unlimited calls (which I rarely use) and 300min international calls! Must resist….

I recently went from Vodafone to Optus. I'm a commuter from the Central Coast to Sydney and I regret changing very much. I have 15gig a month but it's hardly usable for most of the journey, with Vodafone I could stream video without any problems for about 70% of the trip. I am seriously considering going back with this deal!

  • I was hesitant to go Voda for a long time after the Vodafail era, but recently changed and the coverage has been great and even better than Optus in most places. What puts it over the top is I have an iPhone and going Voda gives you visual voicemail for free. Will be even better soon when iOS10 adds voicemail transcription. A small extra but a good one. Currently on Kogan which is reselling Voda, pretty happy with that.

  • Hi all,

just adding my two cents. I Signed up for this offer and ported my number from Virgin Mobile (Who run off optus). I secured this offer, plus I got the $5 off for the Student discount, PLUS i escalated the call to the manager, and managed to secure another $3 off the price.

So I just got it for $32/month on a 12 month contract, but the price sticks for the life of the plan :)

    wohoo for me!

  • Did anyone sign up and actually get 10GB? I signed up by 31JUL and only received 8GB! :(
