        • @jc89: How do you find not having zoom? Kinda get used to having some zoom on my lenses.

        • @jlogic: it is convenient to have zoom lens. But it is cheaper, lighter, faster, and photos are better using prime fast lens. If I have money I would buy the smallest, lightest, fastest zoom lens (if it exists!)lol

        • +1

@jc89: Yeah I forget how it was with a prime lens. Been using http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/596257-REG/Sigma_57110… as my main goto lens.

Pity I am a Nikon user or else an adaptor would be useful to convert the lenses over to EF M mounts.

The M3 is to replace my S95. So I guess quality wise would be better by magnitudes.

  • How is the video quality on this?

    • For me, it is ok quality I saw on YouTube review.

  • How does this compare to the rx100m3?

    • -1

Price :) haha M3 bundle for $150 more + extra features like hot shoe etc. RX100 overpriced point and shoot camera at $600

    • +3

      Different league. Comparison:

      rx100m3
      +Way better video
      +Way more compact
      +Way faster autofocus
      +EVF

      -1" sensor

      M10/M3
      +interchangeable lenses
      +cheap
      +APSC sensor
      -no viewfinder
      -slow AF
      -average video

If you want something better than your phone this is a great price for the Canon, but pretty much ever other mirrorless camera is better in terms of features.

      • Thanks.

Only reason I ask is because I have the rx100m3 and this seemed like a bargain.

Was unsure if to get it haha.

      • What good are features without good image quality?

The Canon sensor is an APSC size sensor which will perform better than most mirrorless cameras.

I much prefer my M3 over my RX100. The RX100 is not terribly fast at focusing either.

        • +1

By mirrorless cameras I mean Fuji, Sony, Samsung, etc. All of which are APS-C and all of which are significantly better than the Canon mirrorless IMHO, and actually have more than a couple of native lenses. Don't get me wrong, the M3 is a fine accompaniment if you shoot Canon. And at this price they're not really comparable anyway.

  • Currently have an E-PM1 kit and a Panasonic 22mm 1.7. Now contemplating to get this deal (already have a few Canon lens) and sell the M4/3 stuff. Hmm…

  • +1

Before I posted this on ozbargain, only 2 sold. Now 34 sold. Selling fast lol

    • +1

if only you were on the ebay affiliate program :(

      • i do not even know it exists !! lol thanks

  • Anyone know how fast Ted's eBay ship.
I go to New Zealand next Saturday, I wonder if I would get it by Friday.
They won't express post due to lithium battery

    • mine says expected delivery by 29 for Melbourne

  • +1

    WTF!

"Your request can't be processed at this time."

    Arghhhh!!!

    • Link your paypal first before you buy

  • +1

Bought one too. It's really a bargain !! Ta!

  • +1

Only 40 sold after 3100+ clicks.

  • I have a Nikon d3300 with 3 lenses, tripod and yongnuo flash. I really enjoy it but it is getting to be bulky wherever I travel.

This would be a good "backup"/"travel"/"wife can use it because I hog the d3300" camera 😀

  • Was looking at M3 with kit lens but after having some thoughts the kit lens is neither wide enough nor long enough for my use. To be really useful, I'll probably need to invest more into EF lens to cover my needs, too rich for me :(

Great for those Canon DSLR users with EF lens though.

  • This would be a step up from a normal point and shoot, but the kit lens would be limiting and investing in other lenses gets expensive quick. Gonna stick with m4/3 for now.

    • +2

How is 24-70mm limiting? What exactly are you expecting at this price point? The m43 equivalent (GF8 + 12-32) is $200 more.

      • Just saying the kit lens is slow and it gets expensive once you start adding more lenses and the used lens market isn't very robust for this system. Its a good price now, but if you are not a canon dslr shooter, the system is limiting.

      • But comes with 25mm 1.7 ;)

        • Not on their ebay store :( (only in-store promo)

        • +2

          @thelute:

$493 video pro with the 25mm free delivery

        • @aldoduco: Seems a better deal to me (if you aren't already invested in Canon)! A wider zoom and a prime.

        • @thelute: Or you can get this and the Canon 22mm f/2 pancake for less. Also the Panasonic zoom isnt any wider than the Canon.

        • @Orpheus: Yes you are right. I was thinking of the kit zoom that comes with m3

  • -3

Just googled M3 + price and found this link where M3 is on sale at $599.00. With Canon cashback at $150 = great deal :)

      Nope. Grey import.

    • +1

The store is not authorised canon seller (means not eligible for cashback promo). it is not Australian stock.

Sorry guys… thought it was helpful… Can you tell I'm a true newbie lol ;) x

  • +1

This is good time, I'm looking to do some trading on Ebay in the coming weeks and in need of a good camera to take photos of my items.

  • Sorry for being stupid, but Where's the m3 people keep mentioning? There are so many!

  • Does this have built in gps? Can't see it listed in the specs sheet.

    • No GPS.

75 sold, I hope Ted's honor all sells, they have many negatives feedback because they don't honor 20% sales

  • 7 left, hope Ted's will honor the sales. If not, they ll get lots of negative feedbacks from us!

  • Is now 8 left with 104 sold.
TED's keeps revising the quantity. Hope they honor the sales.

  • Is it substantially worth upgrading from my Sony Nex F3 to this or the M3?

  • +2

Just for those who mightn't have heard of this site, this guy does very thorough reviews & says the M10 is a good deal.

    FYI

  • Sold out 111 cameras sold :) Ted's, hope u deliver!

    • Grabbed one just in time. I think we all hope they deliver!

    • i have just decided to purchase after a full day of struggle! and i missed it

      • If you're willing to pay another $47 more after cashback, then Videopro have them for $496 with free shipping

        • thanks for the heads up but i will pass!

        • @mrgeckoz: No worries. I just snuck in and managed to grab one after a few hours deliberating as well!

  • Picked one up an hour ago for the wife so fingers crossed it is honoured :/

  • Was going to buy one but sold out. Ah well, at least i save my money this time

  • -4

my s7 lens is on par with the quality or better

    • I have s6 but I think your wrong

    • I would doubt that an APSC sensor size would lose out. Would be very rare.

  • just received an item sent notification

    • I still have not got any notification !

      • +1

:-( hope you'll receive soon, thanks for posting this deal mate, appreciated.

    • Still haven't got mine.
Do you know how these are being sent? Aus Post?

      • According to their shipping info, it ll be by Auspost

  • Also just got item sent email!

  • Mine is marked as post in eBay. No tracking number provided.

  • Mine marked as posted a short time ago as well, and I think I was a fair way down the list of those that purchased one.
    No tracking number provided either.

  • Anyone received the item yet?

  • +1

Mine says to be delivered by 1st of August.

In order news, I ended up buying Canon EF-M 22mm f2 STM at Ted's, perfect combination with the M10. They still have the $50 off code working brings it down to $175 including shipping. That's 22℅ off.

The original code "CT504U" isn't working, I only spoke to the guy at live chat and he gave me a different code. So for peeps who bought the camera, aiming to get the 22m lens and did the survey speak to Ted's live chat if you want the coupon and buy this lens. 😀

    PS: promo ends 31 July.

    • +1

Fantastic 'available light' lens. Also small. Also sharp. You won't regret it.

  • My lens which I bought from Ted's got sent on Monday and arrived in a parcel locker today, so shipping times are quite reasonable.

  • +1

For whoever had bought EOS M3 + 18-55mm Kit from Ted's, you may be entitled for "Bonus Kooka EOS M Adaptor, value at $80", you should check with Ted's when you receive your camera with full tax invoice :) It says offer ends 31 July 2016. I hope they will give it even when you buy from eBay Ted's store.
    https://www.teds.com.au/canon-eos-m3-18-55mm?utm_source=3dis…
Bonus also shows on July catalog https://www.teds.com.au/media/catalogue/index.html

  • I received an email last week saying the camera was posted. last night there was another email saying it was a mistake and they ran out of stock. They are receiving new stock by the end of next week (Friday) and will post then. Unfortunately I am living overseas on the same night and can't get the GST back :(

    • Same. When I contacted them this morning they mentioned they had oversold. Don't really understand how they could have marked the order sent when it really wasn't. They told me stock was due mid to late August.

      • Same here. Still not canceling though. The cashback is available until 2nd Oct so should be good, just delayed.

        • They promised the tax invoices will be dated so they do qualify for the cash back. So it's worth waiting for.

        • Note you can mail the cash back by 28 Oct just in case

  • Same, same, same experienced here. Received the AOK that transaction went through successfully; received email the camera was in the mail (that's now starting to sound like "our cheque for you is in the mail" line; then received eBay message as described above about there being no stock … previous messages all mistakes, blah, blah, blah …

  • Errr this is complete bullshit….. I guess they are still honouring the deal which is good but seriously what the hell. I was one of the first people to order & I got the stupid email so pissed off

  • I was told end of August.

  • i was told they will have stocks in a few days. why did they answer so differently? i will travel on 27/08. hope the camera will arrive before going. they are not really professional

  • Go the same treatment here to.Orderd early. Two days later received an email saying it had been shipped eta:29th. Yesterday I received a email stating they had a error and are now out of stock.eta late August.l'm heading on holidays in just over a week, thanks a lot Ted you Prick.

  • Another disappointed customer - ordered, got receipt, got delivery notification, and then two days later I received an email saying it was all a terrible mistake. If I cancel my order I will not get back the 20% off eBay voucher, which I could have easily used at another retailer. If I keep the order (and believe Ted's new delivery date) it will be too late to take the camera overseas with me. I see now why all the negative reviews for Ted's on eBay over the past 12 months!.

  • Well…I am cancelling my order and leave negative feedback for Ted. I need this camera in August and bought when they said they ll deliver by 29 July.

  • Same thing here. Marked as posted with no tracking. Emailed them for tracking number and they ignore that message. Followed up and they replied saying will be a few more days until more stock and then I followed up again yesterday and they replied saying out of stock until end of August. Still tossing up whether to cancel or not but I need it sooner than end of the month. Agree that the bad reviews are spot on!

  • I see Ted's haven't changed since my first (and last) online order with them went south years ago (if discussions here are any indication). Australian retail: 1000x worse than any problems I have had with overseas vendors (in general). And there I was thinking things would have changed by now.

  • This is bullshit, my order got cancelled, by the looks of things a lot of people are experiencing the same thing, so disappointed, I was so looking forward to getting it.

    • Did you actually get a notification your order has been cancelled rather than delayed? Most people commented their orders are delayed, like me. :(

      • they said it was delayed until end of Aug, but I opted to cancel and get a refund instead.

  • +1

Save your money from this seller! Waste of time. We should ban Ted's. Don't forget to leave Negative feedback on eBay!!

  • My order has been shipped today, They also gave me tracking number as well.

    • You may be one of the first ones who ordered the camera. I haven't received any email regarding shipping yet.

      • I didn't get any email, but i messaged them on eBay and they said it's been posted today.

  • I got a reply from Ted's that they posted it and I was provided tracking number. This happened after asking for a refund via eBay Resolution Centre

    • Not the best way for a resolution but I do hope you get it before your event/ holidays

      • I got it today from Auspost. Well, it was no point to get it after my holidays anyway. I was prepared to get something else.

  • Also advised order is delayed with next shipment end of August, even though they changed eBay notification to shipped

  • +1

Guys, be careful about Ted's invoice. My order date was 23 Jul. The invoice date is 31 July and I received the camera on 4 Aug. The canon cashback promo purchase period ends 28 Aug. So if you choose to wait to get it at the end of Aug, you may not be able to claim $150

  • Got mine a few days back. I got the M3 though. Lovely camera.

  • I got mine today over the moon - looks awesome… haven't used it yet though

  • +1

Surprised mine arrived today as well. 😀
