250 grams for 18,000 mah… not very likely. I'd be surprised if it goes over 10,000

  • +3

I would say this would be closer to 10000mAh

  • Is it still worth buying? I need to buy 2 powerbanks ASAP…

    • +2

      Gotta catch em all…

      • Haha 1 pokemon player, 1 ingress player here. I only started playing ingress when my partner got addicted to pokemon go…

        • Well one is based on the other ;)

        • You need to start thinking about finding a new partner. It will get your mind away from power banks.

if you need it asap why are you buying from a chinese site?

      • +1

good point. delivery is going to take ages hey…

        • +1

Took about 45 days with my previous order. Never again

    • If you were in my city, I would sell you mine. So ask the people around you if they're willing to sell you theirs

Hey rep, if I buy one of these and it turns out not to be 18,000mAh are you able to provide an instant refund or would I have to put in a PayPal claim?

Edit: note they very oddly link your PayPal account to your account on their site - it's an unlimited payment agreement (similar to linking to Google Play, etc) rather than a single time payment. Little fishy but easily unlinked after.

Its not 18,000mAh… so why are you creating problems for yourself?

All that will happen is the seller will say it is.. and then how will you prove it?

Maybe if the batteries inside are marked…

      • For most I would say true to that, though for me personally I have the time spare to take necessary photos and do necessary tests required for a PayPal claim. PayPal heavily favors the buyer, especially when the buyer goes as far as submitting photographic evidence.

Also note these things are barely worth $2-3 in bulk if they're fake. They'd simply cut their losses in the case of a claim if it is a scam - they'd wait out the 2-4 weeks for it to be escalated then it'll auto refund after 2 weeks of no response once escalated.

If you are nearly certain these are fake/bad quality then it's not just the $13 for the bank at risk. Shoddy electrics can combust or damage the device it's connected to.

A $15 10k xiaomi is sufficiently cheap I find as they carry nearly zero risk.

        • @incipient:

The electronics are real, just they run at around 70% efficiency (much cheaper) and have plastic housing, rather than 90%+ and metal with Xiaomi. It's the batteries that would be fake, usually either smaller batteries than listed or used/second-hand batteries taken from old laptops and what-not (laptop batteries also contain 18650s).

Also note I don't intend on using the power bank (I have many Xiaomis already), I'm rather simply curious if it nears the listed capacity in anyway.

          @incipient: C'mon, it's not like it could explode… Oh wait…!!! :)
Agree, totally not worth the risk compared to Xiaomi prices.

        • @dyl: I envy you! You seem to have ample time on your hands 😀

  • Anybody check the "cheaper" price that their app might offer…?

  • With UV light,it is convenient for you to check your money

Orly? What about for infidelity testing…

    • +1

Or… checking rocks, etc. for Uranium ;-)

  • Risk of fire??

  • You can take it along with you wherever you go

    Thank you tiny deal

  • If you already have a lot of 18650 batteries you could go for one of these: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/High-Quality-Rechargeable-USB-Mob… $1.98

Holds 6 x 18650 (flat top) at whatever mah/quality you want.

    • "Important!! the Positive and negative of the battery can not be installed in the opposite direction, Otherwise it will get burned". Is reverse polarity protection really that expensive. Yes it would be silly to put the batteries in reversed but people do silly things every day when using products because they're tired or distracted. I'd pay $4 to have that protection in place.

        Good point.

      • It's an OEM product designed for resellers to put batteries in then permansntly shut the device - the extra $4 isnt worth it for a reseller in such a situation.

  • I have one certainly not 18,000mha
and the Light and UV come on at the same time, making the UV useless.

    contains 1-2 18650's…

could be maybe 18,000mha at 3.2v…

    • Same with mine, feels like 2 18650s towards the back corner of the unit.

  • Hey OP special price is gone, can you do again?

  • Mine has just arrived, testing now.

Doesn't output the full 2.1A, rather a total of around 1.3A across ALL THREE ports.

    • Total output 1300mAh @ 4.4 - 5.1V. ~6.25wH

I'd assume a 1900-2400mAh cell, far from the promised 18,000mAh. How do I go about receiving my refund OP?
