    Roidmi is an awesome name

    • With the mi being pronounced me ;)

If it doesn't work with your ciggie lighter, get creative and drill a hole in your dash big enough for it to sit in, and hardwire (solder) it in permanently. :)

Shake function: Shake phone to answer calls, play next song etc.

Don't let the cops see you have a "shake" whilst driving.

  • I have just received one of these, build quality looks good. I haven't been able to get it working yet as the instructions are not in english and my mandarin is limited. Anyone got instructions in English for us monolingual duffers?

  • I bought one of these early in the year for my Ford Territory with no aux cord, doesn't fit in any of the lighters so not compatible. But it was compatible with my Mitsubishi Lancer 2009 model which has now replaced the aux cord and now provides two USB ports to charge the phone as well. It works really well, I downloaded the English version of the app after some googling and set it up with a suitable FM station. On only a few occasions it hasn't automatically synced with my phone but I think it was more my phones fault rather than the Roidmi, other than it's been a solid buy.

    • thanks for this comment, was going to order but looks like it wont therefore fit in my BF Falcon either.

  • Can you comment on sound quality at all?
Tried a few cheapie Bluetooth to Aux and Aux to FM products in the past which sounded not too great and ended up just going back to straight Aux in.
Would much prefer a wireless solution if they didn't sound like someone playing a radio through a tin can!

Sound is pretty good for a BT connection, using a frequency that's been pretty good (meaning no interference) since I've set it up (95.5FM in Brisbane). Couldn't notice too much difference between it and the aux cord.

Imagine some cars passing by and catch your frequency, roll window down and say I heard that

  • This thing for gym junkies?

  • found one comment from the indiegogo page of this product, looks like it's a Chinese version : "Hello, it's the Chinese version, with Chinese packaging and manual, no CE FCC Rosh certification".. just to be safe.

  • It has 'Car gauge retardant anti-age' technology!

    • Wow - and also "you can fell more suprise continuously!"
But all that needs to be weighed up against the name…

  • Check out the permission requirements on the app. Network, contacts, location, storage, etc.

Yeah, no thanks - I'll get a basic bluetooth transmitter.

    • Can't you just use marshmallows permission thingy to stop it from having any permission on those? For example I use mi home app and I've pretty much let it have no permission and it still works fine.

    • There are reasons for needing to access a lot of those permissions. Like network to use a mi account and storage to play music. Oversimplified's method will do the trick.

      No. That's the older version.

  • The issue of it not working in many car is real. I have the first version of this and it would not work in my 2004 Honda Jazz. If i jammed it in there really hard, it would work. However, because i live in Canberra when it got really cold like it is now, it would stop working. I guess the metal contracted. I fixed it by wrapping the time in alfoil. I have to replace the alfoil every now and then.

Its hard to tell if its the side contacts or the bottom which is not making contact. I put a small ball of solder on the bottom to see if it would fix it but i could not seem to get it to work.

I would still recommend if you have an old car.

  • Can you change the cigarette lighter in your car with an add-on or something, been looking for a good way to play music in my 2005 pulsar, if anybody knows I'd appreciate the help, I bought the previous roidmi without checking then realised it wasn't compatible

          @Clear: Thanks. Found it.

  • will it fit in Mitsubishi Outlander 2008?

    • You should be able to tell by looking at the socket.

      • i still cannot determine its compatibility by looking at the socket….

this is the picture of cig socket in outlander.

Looks like it'll work as it has the rectangle bit that you can see in my picture above highlighted in blue.

        • @Clear:
Today i have received this unit. Plugged in Outlander and its working perfectly fine. Been looking for something like this for a long time. Great product. Loved it.

Easy to use and app is in English language but instruction manual in Chinese.

Guys I'm not sure if it's just me, but the microphone on this device is really static-ky as well as not very loud (or says the missus on the other end).

    • Yep, just got mine. Need to scream for them to hear me well. Google voice commands works fine at normal voice volume though…? Bit crap as I bought it for the Bluetooth calls function, only fix Ican think of is to extend the 12v plug to sit up near my head to get closer to mic… Any other ideas?

  • The Code doesn't seem to be working!

    • Are you logged in and adding the exact one linked in the post? As it's still working for me.

      • How do you navigate to that while using the cashreward site?
