    • This is for the animated film not the comic.

Saw it at the cinemas last Sunday. Have to say that I didn't like it at all. The story line is pieced together from old Batman comics and games and the ending was just terrible.

Same. very disappointing as the comic is iconic.

Kinda sorta true - it's an adaptation of the graphic novel The Killing Joke. Nothing from any of the games. 30 minutes of new material that wasn't part of the original story was added to flesh out the characters, in particular Barbara Gordon. She was barely in the original and was basically the victim to Joker's nefarious plans, and we all know you can't portray female characters as victims or helpless in stories these days, so they gave her a backstory as well as an epilogue that also wasn't in the orignal comic. The plus side to the movie is that Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill voiced the lead characters once again.

      • I heard Batman had an enjoyable moment. :)

Haha yeah, it's DC Animation's first R rated feature so I guess they had to shoehorn a sex scene in there somewhere. But yeah they added a bunch of silly stuff like that which totally changed the tone of the original story. If they just did the original Killing Joke as is, it would have been an instant classic.

    • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, I was kinda hoping for this to be good :(

So was I after Batman Bad Blood being such a let down, unfortunately this was just as bad. The original story didn't age well, the added material was awkward and out of place and the whole story felt like watching actors who didn't want to be there pushing out poor predictable lines. Mark Hamill was the only saving grace but even he couldn't save the film from being a complete flop.

Is $14 a bargain for a standard def movie?

    • Yeah, really that is cheap? Especially for a digital download as well.
      Or am i missing something?

  • Once again a great comic ruined by a crappy movie.

  • Didn't like it, I'm not a feminist at all, in fact my wife would call me a masochistic ass but there really was no need to turn Barbara Gordon into such a victim (if you see it you'll understand) and for her to get off with Batsy (her mentor and father figure) It was awkward at best.

    • Less awkward than you'd think - I never would have expected an outfit like that to be so easily removed! :0
