Sydney Train will never do this no matters how many track works during every weekend.

People would have said the same about Metro until now.

      • I'm enjoying watching my comment get downvoted by Sydney people and upvoted by Melbourne people. It's staying steady!

    • They'll gladly increase the price though.

2000? Wonder how long till they run out considering the 90,000 daily commuters, 7.15am?

    • Well according to this spreadsheet from PTV, 4600 people enter Flinders between 7am and 9:30am, so you're probably not far off considering if people know about this they may go earlier.

    "Thanks for sticking with"… A monopoly ?

When do we get a choice!

    • +7

Would you rather they hired someone to stand by gates, hurling faeces and chanting " Haha! You have no choice!"?

just take the candy bar mate

    • They mean "thanks for putting up with all the work" Frankston line level crossing removals etc/
They have given out random crap on different days - headphones, tissues, breakfast food etc.

Will the Myki card expire before the year's travel ends?

    • No…they got a new 10-year extension to continue suprorting (.sic) the ticketing

      • What he means is that Myki cards have an expiry date. Typically about 4 years after you buy it. So if this is an old card, it might expire before the year is up. Unlikely, but it is Myki and Metro…

  • Nice! Also I guess its worth a mention, but this morning coming up from Melbourne Central Railway Station they had a girl giving away free small packets of Kettle chips. Rosemary and Sea Salt (definitely get that one its yum) and Sweet Chill and Sour Cream I believe was the other one. They were handing them out today on the ground level at the top of the escalators up from the train station. Dont know if theyll be handing them out tomorrow, just consider this an FYI :)

There should be a site that tells us when these things happen, as on the rare days we're around for rush hour there's never any freebies!

      • Like this site? They usually get posted.

They were doing the same thing at Fed square 2 days ago, most of the day too.

  • Quick kids, head to the train station and accept chocolates from old men…

If you are heading out to win the golden ticket… dont.. Someone already won it.

  • No one seen giving them out just now.
