      Thanks for letting me know they do pick up.

      I called them just now and spoke with a rep. I wanted to know if I could put one on hold to have a look when I come in tomorrow. He informed me that they will set aside one but have that many in stock he would be surprised if they sell out before I get there.

      Will probably join the SP club tomorrow..

      Win 8 must not have been focus tested. I don't find it intuitive at all, and I am computer literate.

    The fan on the one I picked up today is excessively noisy when on idle! The back is also quite hot. Is this normal for Surface tablets?

      It was when I got mine. Subsequent updates seem to have made it quieter and cooler. Battery life also seems longer. Perhaps they reduced the clock speed?

        Cool, thanks for that. Reading through Google reveals that this seems quite common. The Rep also said that it is normal especially on the i5 model. I'm currently updating it with Windows 10. Hopefully it will turn like you said.

        Thanks for the info! The order invoice I downloaded from their website is only an invoice without ABN or GST in it.. Is your invoice a proper tax invoice with their ABN and GST inclusive amount? Cheers!

          Yes it has ABN at the top. The GST details are also there. They might include a printed tax invoice in the post. If not you can always ask them to email you. I found their staff are very helpful.

    Went and got one today. They have a lot of stock, but they have to 'prepare' them which takes about 15 minutes from the moment you walk in to when you get out. My guess is that they prepare batches and ship them out, go out of stock, then prepare another.. rinse and repeat.

    They are not in refurbished condition. They are in a condition that makes me think they have been sitting in a box their whole life and never taken out. As new is right. The keyboard and pen can't have been used. The tablet, maybe by someone who wore piano gloves and just used it once. It's just so crisp and clean. The charger has never been used the way the cable has the kinks in it surrounded by plastic is just too perfect to have been sed even once.

    It's a little bit suss to be honest, especially how many they had in this condition. Like a few containers fell off the back of a cargo ship a year ago and now they are hitting the shores. I asked the guy there and it was a little vague how they came to get so many from 'creditors and insurance people'.

    Well I'm going to load up Windows 10 whilst I still can and be very happy about my purchase.

    Hey to the other OZBers in there by the way, you can tell your friend it is new and they won't know the difference! I was the guy using the iPhone 4 because my other phone died and was saying how strangely OK I am with using a phone that hasn't had the OS updated or been taken out of a drawer since 2012.

      Pretty much summed up what I think regarding the condition on mine too. I was prepared to spot something at the back of the unit and on the keyboard but they were flawless.

    For any fellow Ozbargainers who missed the windows 10 upgrade deadline yesterday afternoon, YOU CAN STILL DO IT.
    I picked up my Surface 3 pro yesterday afternoon, just to realised in the evening that the deadline had passed (I guessed deadline was 6:30pm Sydney/ Melb time).
    Some quick google search to discover that Microsoft also has "Windows 10 free upgrade for customers who use assistive technologies".
    Spent 2 hours this morning and now it is running smoothly on Windows 10 pro.

      Going to install Windows 10 and factory reset it.

      Call me skeptical but want to make sure there's no spyware on it.

    For everyone that has purchased, you will be able to register the type cover with Microsoft for a full warranty. Mine is showing until November 2017. See this link and enter your serial number on the type cover:

    Obvs would be amazing with the surface pro itself, but better than 90 days! :)

      How did you confirm that it was registered and that you have warranty on the keyboard?

      I registered my type cover as per the instructions on the link (twice) and I got the confirmation message that the type cover has now been registered to my account. When I click on warranty information, I can only see the SP3 and not the type cover. When I click on the SP3 I get an error and the website has been telling to me 'try again soon' for the last day.

        If you go to this link https://account.microsoft.com/devices/about and sign-in, then click on "show warranty info", then "schedule a repair", you should see your type cover with the warranty end date :)

    Just got mine. It was a slow truck all the way to Perth.

    Totally flawless and got a purple typecover. As it was a gift for my girlfriend and that's her favourite colour everything has gone perfectly.
