  Yeah right, if only they have enough stocks. No wonder they are losing customers. No body will believe they have enough stocks for most of the popular thing in their promotion. That Etpos $100 card from last week, Harry Potter books in Big W….they are just toying customers.

  So $30 starter kits for $15 isn't really worth it though. $10 or under is usually good.

  Usually have no issues getting the Optus SIM cards, it's the Telstra $5 that were difficult

  Some Woolworth/Caltex petrol station in my area (Southeast, VIC, outer suburb) was selling the $30 for $10 the past 2-3 weeks. Not sure if it's still on though, as there's no date and the staff had no clue on when it'd be ended. Also, it's counted as $5 purchase too, to get additional 4c/L for the fuel.

  Can these start kit be used to recharge an existing optus prepaid number?

    These can also be used to Recharge an existing number.Just phone Optus and ask them to do a Sim Retention (transfer of credit from the Starter Kit to your existing number).

      If you plan to do it multiple times, and don't want to call:
      You can do something similar yourself here, but it'd be the other way around:
      http://www.optus.com.au/replacesim
      It'd transfer the number and remaining credit of ur old one to the new one automatically.
      As the link suggest, you have to change the Sim (that link would say taking up to 4h
      to make the balance transfer work at the end, but in my experience, normally good within
      the hour - I normally did mine before I sleep though, so doesn't really matter).
