Everyone can take a break from winter this Saturday 13 August 2016 when Northern Beaches Council officially opens the doors to Manly Andrew ‘Boy’ Charlton Aquatic Centre with a free community open day.
Northern Beaches Council General Manager Mark Ferguson welcomes visitors to the recently redeveloped aquatic centre and encourages locals to enjoy a free swim or workout at the open day.
“A number of activities have been planned to celebrate the redeveloped centre and we hope to see as many community members as possible join us”, said Mr Ferguson.
Activities on the day include:
10am-7pm FREE PUBLIC entry all areas.
12.00-4pm Children’s pool inflatable in our 50M outdoor pool.
11am Body PUMP class in our Group Fitness Room*
11.30am Aqua Class
1pm Cycle Class in our Group Fitness Room**
“The Manly Andrew ‘Boy’ Charlton Aquatic Centre is a beautiful aquatic facility and one that will be well-used by the whole Northern Beaches community in the immediate and long term.
“Key to our vision was retaining key aspects of the old swim centre most important to the community whilst improving the overall amenity of the facility.
Your tax dollars at work. Upgrade a pool in a waterfront suburb.
Meanwhile - parramatta pool gets closed.
If they did this on sunday instead people could have used the $2.50 sunday saver fare to get the ferry over there (and back). Oh well.
