My teeth will be so white that people will think that I'm a tv celebrity.

    Not a good toothpaste

    • -6

Clowns, bought 7 of these when last on sale. No comparison to Oral B.

  • +3

    Last paid $1.64

    • As that was 3.5 years ago (19 Jan 2013) … but if used sparingly, may do the job for 3.5 years ;)

Jokes aside, it's a good deal now considering Colgate and Oral are the main brands on sale recently (forgetting inflation or CPI).

      • +1

Doesn't expire until early 2017 though.

        • Daaayum … how many tubes of toothpaste you buy??

          Like 30+?? just curious … #nomasayin

          @db2k:

I bought 24 in that deal

        • @Japius: Daaaaaaaaayum … and I thought I was hardcore getting 3 tubes … sigh

OK fellow Ozbargainers … share your quantities … who da biggest-baddest-Ozbargainest of dem all??

        • +1

@db2k: my family laughed at me for buying 6 boxes of 12 colgate total in late 2014 from COTD.
I have 4 tubes left.. Hence being here LOL

@ozy: Double daaaaaaaaaaaaayum …. that's a fair effort Ozy … I clearly need to lift my game.

The Whitening Kit is also on special for $10.00

    • The bleach in this may do more harm than good, but the battery powered polisher with pumice powder (a very wimpy version of what dentists use) has some use. Use sparingly.

This is great toothpaste but I recommend trying the Coles brand whitening toothpaste as it's also very good.

  • +8

Good toothpaste that, unlike many, is not rubbed into rabbits' eyes just to see what that does.

    • +4

I did a Daize test with this on my eyes.

Can confirm, reduces questionable pink eye.

    • +2

Came here to say this :-)

  • Anyone used this and seen notable differences?

    • +1

Don't waste your money. Never seen a toothpaste brand that claims to whiten yet DOESN'T list its ingredients in its packaging nor the tube itself. Is that even allowed?

The clowns who negged my comments are either paid hacks or haven't bought the toothpaste themselves.

    • +6

I've had 1 dentist tell me these types of toothpastes don't work (they don't contain enough of the ingredient/s required for whitening), and another tell me you may notice a small difference but as soon as you stop using it it goes back to 'normal'.

I'm curious if anyone has noticed anything, too.

      • +1

Yeah, a dentist would say that…

    • +3

These toothpastes can whiten, but that word in itself is arbitrary.
It will not whiten to the effect of professional whitening nor remove all stains but it will remove SOME. In comparsion to normal toothpastes - it contains calcium carbonate which is the 'whitening agent' other than that - whitening toothpastes tend to have a more abrasive grit to allow for stain removal.
Also a common misconception is that it will whiten everything in the mouth. If you have fillings in the front - they do not whiten.

@girlshaped if you don't change your habits of coffee/tea/anything staining - the effects of even professional whitening will be temporary albeit longer lasting.

      FYI - I'm a dental student.

      • What I have heard is the abrasiveness is actually bad for your tooth enamel and the makes your teeth more susceptible to staining in the future. Is there any other method that doesn't cause this problem?

        • +1

The traditional non abrasive product is sodium hydroxide based. But having said that toothpaste itself is a gentle abrasive.

So people have used lemon juice (just like people do on clothing) but I'm not sure how affective it would be as it replies on sunlight to activate.

Basically even if you think dentists are money grubbing dodgy buggas, they have studied for 5 years on what's in tour mouth. So they kind of are experts.

        • Yes - it definitely does - even brushing with a hard toothbrush or with forces of more than a 'brush' stroke can cause gum recession leading to exposed roots and sensitivity over time.
In theory by abrading the enamel and exposing the layer beneath (dentine) your teeth would be more susceptible to staining and sensitivity.
There is no real method that avoids this issue - apart from diet; avoiding things like tea, coffee, wine etc. Another good tip is to rinse with water after anything acidic or can stain.

  • I saw this but, when looking at the ingredients I didn't see any fluoride. Now I am no expert, but a dentist told once that it is the most important part.

    • It contains flouride, see here

      Fluoride protection against cavities
The premium fluoride enriched toothpaste offers maximum oral care hygiene

      • SodiumMonofluorophosphate…I checked again, apparently that is the fluoride

        • Yeah just had a look and that's (Sodium Monofluorophosphate) listed on the ingredients on the box/packaging, and also says fluoride on the front.

    Great find OP. White Power!

      White Glo*

Lol … you got neg'ed for that LOL!!

  • +2

grabbed three to have a try

  • i don't know if it's because of a bad batch but the last few toothbrushes i've used from these have had bristles which seem to fall out

  • The day after I pay $4 + $5 for a new toothbrush and toothpaste.. oh well.

Edit: there's a freebie too?? I'm really bad at this whole OzBargain thing sometimes.. oh well, only $9 wasted!

  • Had picked up a few for $1 in woolies staff sale…cant beat that price :)

  • One thing I like about this toothpaste is it's a lot thicker than other brands, so you don't need to use so much. The included brushes have changed design over time. They're quite short now, but still work ok.

    • That may be Melamine😜
