A bit under 7kg worth of meat for $135. So roughly $20/kg + shipping.

No deal since only the eye fillet steaks (300g of the 7kg) would be > $20/kg at a good butcher. The rest (sausages, sirloin, chicken breast fillets, kebabs) are $8-15/kg normally.

Not a deal in my opinion. Maybe for some who don't have access to well-priced butchers?

      Agreed…

I'd only be interested in the steaks…

Would never purchase pre-marinated stuff from a butcher… That would be a great way for them to hide all their old meat…

Thanks for sharing your feedback PBG! If you have a look on our website, our meats are actually grass black angus beef (which is restaurant quality), free range, ethically raised and hormone free. Now I assume that because you decided to comment, you must know a lot about quality meat, so I do appreciate you sharing your concerns.

The meat you get at grocery stores and butchers is quite different to the products we produce, however if the above meat raising and processing standards do not appeal to you that's absolutely fine - it's not for everyone! We charge a higher price point for our meats due to such standards.

You'll also find that cuts such as lamb back-strap are not available at local butchers or supermarkets. It's generally priced at $55 per kilo!

Do let us know if you have any questions! :)

Well said. Even us Ozbargain crowd like to see how the other half lives and if we can achieve that experience through your restaurant quality, free range, ethically raised and hormone free Snags, Kebabs and other produce then I am all for it. It warms the cockles of my heart to know that your animals had a smile on their dial before you knocked them on the head.

        • Thanks for letting us read that! You do know what patronising means, don't you?

      • This is the first time I've +'d both sides of an ozb retailer/customer argument.

By no means am I an expert in quality meat, but then this isn't a forum for meat connoisseurs… this is OzBargain. That said, without having comparable meat quality to compare the price against it is impossible to gauge if this is a good deal or not. I have not downvoted this deal, merely expressed my opinion, but your sarcasm is duly noted.

You'll also find that cuts such as lamb back-strap are not available at local butchers or supermarkets. It's generally priced at $55 per kilo!

Well my local butcher (Peters) sells grass-fed lamb backstrap for $39.99/kg, but contrary to your comment both Coles and Harris Farm sell organic lamb backstrap for $46/kg and $45/kg respectively and we all know how overpriced Coles & Harris Farm are in their meat department so those prices are well above the 'local butcher' standard.
