    +10% import duty?

    • oops forgot this, never order grey import over $1000 lol

  • Yeah + GST on the way in…

    • -3

Oh, and let's not forget the limited warranty, compared to 2yrs for local stock…

    • +1

No GST from these lads. They will undervalue it.

      • -5

        Based on your word…?

        Yeah, not worth the risk.

        • +5

Go read there FAQ then go read Whirpool son.

I have ordered lenses before all G.

  • +4

i rather pay $1349 to pre-order with Samsung + 256GB SD instead of this….at least with warranty and + (possible GST Return )

Not all people want single sim variant, mostly Asian mates like dual sim as i do. Unfortunately, in that case, we need to grey import it.

      • +1

your aussie mates don't want dual sim? about half of my aussie mates do.

        • some of my mates think dual sim mobile eats battery and some really do not care because they have only one sim to use lol

        • @randomrandom: but you can just put a microsd in instead of the second sim in which case it'd be the same as the aus version? Not sure how it would use more battery.

        • @ChillBro: i agree but some people do not know much about technology so they make their decisions on wrong info.

      • Please remember that dual sim phones will no longer work at the end of the year since carriers are swtching their 2G networks off.

After that, only 1 sim will work in dual sim phones.

        • Is this for sure?
I've got 2 SIMs in an S5 and both of them appear to be working on 4G?

        • sim 2 tray is hybrid which is also a micro-sd card compatible, it's not total waste and it will be similar to single sim variant.

        • @randomrandom:
Maybe on later models but on S5 I have both sims and a sd card all working.
How will the second sim stop working?
          Cheers

          @llanfachreth:

          It's unsure.

First dispatch of Note 7 dual SIMS version supports 4G + 2G.

Samsung may release 4G + 3G support or 4G + 4G in later system updates. No official time frame available at the moment but there is rumor it will be ready in 2016 Q4.

        • @icecream:
          Thanks

        • @llanfachreth: do not try to put 2 sims + sd card in note 7, this will break the sim tray pin and your both sims and sd card will stuck inside the phone, there is a thread on xda about it.

        • @randomrandom:

I hope that guy can recover it.

BTW, was the guy doing some kind of break test, as if entertaining others?

        • @icecream: no he was not trying to test the device as most of the youtube channels do but he is from Dubai and is a custom rom developer. He used to put 2 sims and sd card in his galaxy s7 edge which worked fine and he did not expect this coming, I am happy at least he ranged the bells so others can stay away from trying this.

        • @randomrandom:

Thanks for sharing. It's good to know.

  • Better get local stock with the GST and delivery costs, not sure if there is import duty. I have bought many times from them but usually cheaper phones below $500.

  • Eglobal pre order? They will probably keep the money an extra month or two before shipping one out

  • +2

Or trade up your devices in Samsung Stores and get an Australian device after launch. Has to be done same day you're buying the phone though so no sd card preorder option. At least you get 24months local warranty.

  • Can both SIMs work on 3G or 4G simultaneously?.

Most phones only allow one SIM on 3G/4G and the other needs to be 2G only.

    • with my note 5 dual sim, i could only use 3g/4g on one sim while 2g on the second one. I think note 7 will be the same but i am not sure because i did not get it yet.

      • thanks randomrandom

since 2G network could be switched off early next year, need to be careful with buying a dual sim phone

        • great point but we can switch these options in settings that which sim we want to use with 3g/4g for example if sim1 is on 4g and now want to enable mobile data of sim2 then in settings we can change sim2 to 3g/4g so i think it will not make a big difference if there is not 2g available.

        • @randomrandom:

          I don't think you understand.

No 2G means that no calls/text/data will work.

The second sim card slot essentially becomes a sim card holder and nothing else.

        • @samfisher5986: thanks for clarifying this, seriously i did not think like this. Yes, if this is going to happen then i do not think there is a deal in importing dual sim version and risking the money.

        • +1

@randomrandom: If you want/need dual sim, check out the discussion and wiki on Whirlpool about 4g+3g phones.

          The wiki is here: https://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/dual_sim_4g3g_phones

Probably best to wait till it is under $1,000 AUD.

    • +1

i am sure at the end of September it will be under $1000 and we will get ebay next 20% off deal. I bought my galaxy note 5 in the end of September 2015 and now waiting to repeat the process for note 7

  • Buy with 28c MC and claim price protection in 6 months.

    • does price protection work with overseas online store? if so this same exact store needs to sell it cheaper for it to work right? if another online store sell cheaper it doesn't work

      • yeh, I meant buy in Aussie store at $1349

On release, Im guessing it will drop to $1100 because no SD card will be included.

In 6 months, hoping it will be around $850, claim the price protection. Buying now and in 6 months will be the same

        • but then aussie store prices don't really drop a lot… or are you talking aussie online store? price protection work with aussie online?

        • @suicine94:

yeh, works with online as well. I tried last time with online store with no shopfront and they credited my card with the difference under price protection

        • @seijai:

thanks. so as long as ozzie online its ok? was the application process tedious?

        • For comparison, the Note 5 is 12 months old, and locally it's still $947!

        • @suicine94:

Sorry, just to confirm….when I said Aussie online, I meant a website that ended with .com.au

I just emailed a claim form and they emailed back and confirmed the claim and approved the payment. It was quite simple

          Spaceback -

Yes, but currently there is bonus SD card, so when this offer goes, then I suspect the phone price to drop…..and you can always wait for sale period within that 6 months and make the price protection claim then

        • @seijai:
Hi @seijai did you buy yet? I was planning on doing the same but not sure where to buy from, i.e. where is likely to drop the price within the next 6 months….

        • @llanfachreth:

Bought from Mobilieciti when they had ebay special last week

I think price will drop once the SD card special is over

  • I would check what their warranty policy is. I previously purchased an Samsung Galaxy S5 with them, had an issue with the screen, and needed to send it to Hong Kong for them to find out what's wrong with the phone. I couldn't locate a company that would ship the phone with the battery and had to ask eglobal to arrange a courier to pick it up from my home. Note, I had to pay for the shipping to get it to Hong Kong and back.Overall it was quite a taxing experience.

Just purchased a Samsung Galaxy S7 from Kogan and I checked their warranty policy. Kogan will organise and pay product pick and up and drop off from your home.

  • is it worth hanging out trying to get the 6GB version some how?

would there be a big improvement?

    • Ram really matters if you do a lot of multi-tasking but seriously on my note 5 i never saw ram shortage and 4gb is more than enough. The second thing that matters is 4g/3g bands if they are compatible and the seller can be trusted then i will suggest you to wait for 6gb version because i do not think there will be a big difference in price because a lot of Chinese seller will try to increase their sales as they always do. Lastly, i have come to know 6gb version will be gorrila glass 4 instead of 5.

  • Are any of the Dual SIM variants of the Note 7 Australian originated stock? Or are they all grey imports?

    • i am sure not. Australia got only single sim variant.

  • This says that it only supports 1900MHZ for the 2G network. I looked at Vodafone website (http://vodafone.intelliresponse.com/index.jsp?id=1482&questi…) which says they use 900MHZ for their 2G network.

Does this mean this phone wouldn't work on the 2nd SIM card if it uses 2G?

Or am I misunderstanding, or is it an error?
