How do they fit so much goodness into such a small video card.

How does one comment so quickly

Nothing better to do late at night. :)

This looks like a perfect GPU solution for those small cases which i suppose what it's designed for.

  • How much is it normally?

    • +3

That's about normal for an import, a little on the cheap side for a 1060, but this is a cheaper 1060 model.
For local stock you're lucky if you see it drop below $400, especially with shipping.
the biggest thing in this deal is availability, the newer cards are selling out at decent prices every day.

  • Cant find info on Display Resolution Maximum, does it go up to 4k?

    • All 10 series cards released thus far have displayport 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 both support UHD@60Hz

    • It has HDMI 2.0b so one would assume so since it supports 4K resolution.

  • +3

Only 8 cards left in stock. It is indeed selling out quick. But oh well even if they sell out you should be able to backorder it.

The cooler is pretty basic. Normal run-of-the-mill 90mm fan, no double bearings and no copper heatpipes. The cooler unlike the more expensive AMP! edition card (seen here) is also just aluminium (direct contact).

It's fine I suppose for a low wattage card like this but it might not be so great for people who tinker and OC.

It's very basic. Might want to rethink this card before buying, I think it's worth paying a little extra for the evga SC GAMING / ACX 2.0

      • -1

It's basic because it's designed for a small form factor case PC which require low wattage.

        • +1

That doesn't mean gamers don't try to cram the best hardware into the smallest possible case :)

        • @Lukian:

The eVGA and Zotac are basically the same length (6.8" vs. 6.85"), and same required wattage for PSU too of 400W

        • @pax:

They must be both reference cards.

        • -1

          @Lukian:

Well you can't cram very high powered GPU into a small case or you're going to run into overheating issues. That's why these sort of cards are designed to use less power to generate less heat while at the same time being shorter in length to accommodate the SFF cases.

        • +2

@hollykryten: They can and have fit a GTX 1080 into a laptop.

        • @FabMan: It's not exactly a 1080, it's slightly modified. It doesn't have the same specs. They just dropped the M from the name.

        • +1

          @BlazinPast:

True, looking at specifications the laptop version of the GTX 1080 is the same chip ran at lower frequency and lower voltage. But a benchmark matches and by an ever so small amount outperforms desktop Founders Edition at default clock. No decent benchmarks at the moment that I saw, that information may change with in depth results.

So that is no insignificant GPU trapped inside a laptop, performing much better than the GTX 1060. The person above me claimed you can't cram a high performance GPU into a small case. Well they even have GTX 1080 SLi in laptops, so I'm confident case size isn't the issue.

  • ZOTAC appears to have global warranty; but reports of warranty service being any good is mixed. Anyone here have any experience dealing with ZOTAC warranty claims?

  • Thanks for your $5 link. Bought one ASUS RX470 4GB for $207 USD delivered. Happy

    • where did you get the asus rx470 from, I'm leaning towards the rx470, not sure to get asus or msi .

      • Search on Amazon.com, choose international shipping to Australia. I don't know which one is better, but my budget is under AUD $300. This RX470 4G is cheap enough, better than buying a GTX960 or R9 380

      • i got myself two ASUS RX470 strix's for $207 US Delivered..

  • Or if you want local stock/warranty 1060, this is $388 with code 'CHOICE20'

    • Different card. The mini posted is for small cases (mITX, etc) and won't fit the standard length card.

I've been looking for a local supplier for the 1060 mini myself, and even any other supplier releasing one of these cards.

      • ah ok. my bad.

In news, Nvidia has announced a 3GB version of the 1060. Perhaps a response to the 4GB version of rx480 or something.

    http://www.anandtech.com/show/10580/nvidia-releases-geforce-…

    • its got less GPU cores and 3GB is on the low side even for 1080p.. 4GB is a good starting point on the RX480 and RX470… this is probably due to the consoles having 8gb of memory to work with and consoles are pretty much PC's now anyways so not much game porting is needed these days if any.

Got one of these , arrived August 7

Awesome card. Out of box runs at 1911mhz, reasonbly cool at approx 38C , overclocks well to about 2050mhz, but get hot up to around 70C , but i refuse to overclock anymore as I'm sick of crashing in the middle of a firefight.

    • i never OC since that big edge wont help me in anygame anyway…..
      zotac1070 here

Sold out. Seller Amazon.com has status back ordered and due for more stock on August 26. So you can still back order it. But until then currently no stock left.

  • Sold out. And price is increased to 315 USD. I can't see any back order sign… what should I do?

    • Sadily you will just have to wait for the next lot that drop in price i found this one on pcpartpicker just keep an eye out and keep your finegrs crossed

    • Sadly it seems that seller Amazon.com has been dropped from the list of sellers. Can't currently get it any more.

These are back in stock, the 3gb version as well.

  • What's so special about this being small?
