    How much do these weigh?

    • +5

      Almost 300g.

      • +11

        You mean 3.94 Newtons.

        • +14

          2.94*

          :P

        • +20

@donnot: No wonder I failed physics

        • +11

@Savas: it's the right answer on that other planet. #astrophysics

        • +3

You mean exoplanet, as the closest these headphones gets to 3.94N on any planet is Neptune at 3.35N.

        • @rover: I thought Newtons doesn't depend on gravity? But grams do?

        • +3

          @fruit:

In case you're not sarcastic - Newtons refer to the force, on a planet with greater surface gravity then objects have more force downwards (i.e. their weight). When you can jump high on the moon that is because you weigh less (as there is less gravity on the moon)

Grams are a measure of an object's mass (the amount of matter within the object). This doesn't change from planet to planet.

        • @blighst: I thought that was volume?

So let's say a fully suited up astronaught is 150kilograms on Earth, they would be 150kg on the Moon?

Think I need to look up difference between mass and weight. Science makes my head hurt.

Edit: Science quote: "There is a basic difference, because mass is the actual amount of material contained in a body and is measured in kg, gm, etc. Whereas weight is the force exerted by the gravity on that object."

Thanks OZB, TIL something new. :D

  • Anyone know if these would also come with some kind of receiver so I could hook it up to a TV?

    • +2

It's Bluetooth. If your TV or receiver has Bluetooth you're good to go.

    • +6

I use one of these plugged into the headphone jack on my TV: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/371688512982

    • +1

Go to eBay and search "Bluetooth aux". Adapter is about $2.50

    • There are Bluetooth transmitter you can get from ebay for relatively cheap price.
Bauhn also has a cordless headphone set with the same design. They sound pretty good too.
I've got both BT and cordless and it's the same company that supplies them both.
They've come a long way since the crummy versions from a few years ago.

  • +5

Could put a Sony sticker on it…

    • +43

      Good anti theft idea!

  • +1

Has anyone bought these or have any idea what they sound like? Looking to get my dad a pair for Father's Day to replace the apple earbuds he uses for listening to his PC

    • +11

These are very good for the price,.. Good bass, quite loud and good battery life.

They do feel a little plastic, and I didn't think they'd last all that long but I've had mine for a while and they still hold good charge and sound great!

Certainly not a dud buy imo.

I've not used the NFC feature to pair them, they use the standard hold of the power button to enter pairing mode,

They seal reasonably well on my ears, only downside for me is they get uncomfortable for long use (2.5 hours).

I haven't regretted these, and given they had a money back guarantee seemed like I couldn't lose!

They easily compare with BT headphones of higher cost… Try them out and see if they are comfortable, if not take them back. Functionally they are great, but check the comfort and fit. Nothing to lose but petrol and time to give them a go.

      • -1

Thanks for the review but is the best thing you can say about the sound quality "good bass, quite loud"?

        • +6

Well… I wouldn't consider myself an audiophile, and given these are sold through a supermarket the target audience are more forgiving.. Most people want to know if the headphones sound good, and most people like the addition of bass, personally when a headphone doesn't deliver enough bass I'm disappointed, it's always something that can be toned down but if there isn't enough to begin with your screwed. I should have mentioned I have a small percentage of hearing loss in both ears. Damn you Pantera/Metallica/Nirvana/Pearljam and all DJ's playing sick trance since forever.

A basic review I know, but it can go one of two ways..

"They lack bass and sound awful and are rubbish"… Could be the review, which it isn't.

People's perception of a quality headphone is subject to their own experience..

Previous pairs owned, music genre listened to etc etc… I read a review on some Xiaomi Hybrids not long before I owned them.. This person was an "audiophile" to a degree and stated that they were rubbish.. Personally they are the best $21 I ever spent on an in ear headphone… And I've spent a lot more,

I think these are good. And that's a personal opinion. Ymmv.

Use the return policy if your doubtful…

          TL;DR

Sound is subjective to each individual's requirements and experience with previously owned headphones and the music they listen too. One persons review of something can be the complete polar opposite of another's experience… Just try em.. They're $40 and the return policy is bullet proof.

Amazing rrp for Yum Cha headphones - now this is an ozbargain

I'm sure they are 20x better than the generic Bluetooth headphones I bought at officeworks

    • +19

Why do you need a headphone for yum cha?

      • +26

        Because yu so lao

  • +2

How do these compare with the bose that are 10x the price?

    • +4

30x worst in terms of comfort.

      • +35

They are German… Surely you meant "wurst" :D

        • +2

          Haha just had to laugh

  • +2

I bought these before and returned them after a few days. It was very uncomfortable and can't wear them more than 20 minutes. It's not recommended.

    • +28

      But they are genuine bauhn

      • +3

        Genuinely laughed

    • +3

That's good feedback and even better to point out you can return them for up to 60 days no questions asked.

      • +9

Not really good feedback if he just has a massive head compared to everyone else here.

        • +12

Agreed. Give good head information please.

        • +2

My head's 59 cm in circumference and these headphones are uncomfortable for me too. The plastic just clamps on my ears too hard as a result.

        • @Kikkoman56: 59cm, that sounds like a big head.

        • +4

          @leftspeaker2000:

Now you gronks have got me wrapping a tape measure around my head.

          56cm.

I'd say I'm very close to the exact average in head size. I'm a 180cm tall male weighing about 68kg.

So 59cm doesn't sound like a noticeably large head to me…

        • +1

          @mgowen:

59-61cm is a large helmet size in winter sports
          56-58cm is a medium usually…

I'm around 59cm.. not noticeably large head… but I find clamping force on headphones can be pretty bad sometimes.. or headbands which start to dig in

        • @Kikkoman56: Thanks for that. Just measured my head and it's 62 cm. So won't be getting these.

Do you also get into situations where people "try on your hat" and when they do, it sits over their eyes because it's too big for them?

    • +4

Can you please comment on the size of your ears? Thanks.

  • +3

On another note, lots of motorcycle gear at ALDI right now (jackets with back protectors, helmets, hi vis gear etc).

    • +9

Good to mention that, now I just need to buy a motobike

      • +24

I just wear the gear to the pub so it looks like I've got one.

        • +2

Look funny catching the train home from the pub though..

        • +3

          @danield:

easy - just say he rides a Ducati/Harley and watch people nod in understanding/pity ;-)

          /flamesuit on

        • +1

          @shakoo: Can confirm… Source: Own a Ducati… :(

        • Yes, an Aldi Motorcycle.

    • It didn't seem to sell as well this year. The leather jackets are a good deal. The rest of the stuff is just ok.

  • I have a pair of the wired version of these, I couldn't be happier with them. Comfortable, noise reduction, good battery life, great low end, and cheap as hell. Great value.

    • +1

The wired version has good battery life?

      • Battery life is as good as that of the cable.

      • +1

The "wired version" are actually noise cancelling, which is why they have a battery.
They also work (without noise cancelling) when the battery is flat or turned off.
My son has a pair and loves them. The only issue is the ear padding sometimes falls off(he's rough with them). They just twist back on again.

  • +5

The wise would give these a wide berth and buy the Bluedio HT Turbine Shooting Brake Wireless Bluetooth 4.1 Stereo Headphones for a similar price. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Bluedio-HT-Wireless-Bluetooth-4-1…

    • +1

😄 I did exactly this last time. Return after one month and got the Turbine. And the good thing is that you can connect to 2 bluetooth devices at once with the Turbine.

      • +1

Thanks very much for this post. I looked this up and found that this gets great reviews. Most importantly, there is also listing for the Bluedio T2+ for only US$20.xx for a new account with everbuying.net so I have ordered one through them.

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/260800

    • Bluedio HT Turbine has loads of features (I bought the radio + mp3 player model) and great sound, but not comfortable for long time use. It hurts my ears after some time :-(

      • +7

        Then stop listening to Slipknot.

        • :-)

Not comfortable because of the tightness of the band and perhaps the shape/material. I don't have round ears.. it is more like oval ;-)

    • +2

BT 4.1 certified headphones is a common marketing stunt. It's a standard that was developed for smart devices and makes no difference to the audio quality or battery life of headphones over BT 3.0.

  • will these pair with a laptop's BT

    • Windows and Apple without issue for me, iPad, MacBook and Laptop.

Pairs with my Moto 360 smart watch as well.

      • +1

What would be the purpose of pairing with the watch? maybe silly question…

        • Moto 360 specifications show it can send audio alerts. So alerts will go to the headphone. Just my guess.

        • You can save music to the onboard watch storage and listen to it via BT without your phone.

        • Moto 360 smart watch has Play Music integrated as an app and onboard storage space.

Going to gym means all music is on the watch… So far I've got about 8 hours worth stored!

Just means I don't have to take my phone into the gym..

      • I cant pair mine with my PC. Needs drivers? (W7)

    • Paired them to my W10 PC and are working fine. The buttons on the headphones work too.

  • +2

Their total lack of a noise cancelling feature makes these the perfect upgrade for all those who bought the Marley noise cancelling headphones from past deals.

  • Used these. They are a great set of headphones.

  • I bought a PS3 bluetooth headset for $120 a few months ago and it's pretty average for the price.
I say, $40 for Aldi branded ones is worth a shot if wireless means a lot - it's convenient :)

  • Are these batteries replaceble??

  • +1

Batteries are built in. Non serviceable.

Ive had these about 12 months. I got them after they went on sale for $20-25.

NFC works fine. They sound pretty good price considered.

    Good buy.

  • Get in early….you might have to fight for the 3 that are at your local store. #clickbait

    • Agreed. These were on sale about 2 or 3 months ago. My local Aldi sold out within the first hour after opening.

    • +1

      My local had plenty.

  • Do these have a 3.5mm connection so they can be used when the battery dies?

    • +1

They are in my locker at work, but i'm pretty sure they do. Battery life is great to be honest.

      • +1

Awesome thanks - how long does a full charge take when the batteries die?

        • Interested as well, how long does the battery last for?

    • Yes they have a 3.5mm connection and they also come with the cable. With the headphones off, the music plays fine through the 3.5mm connection.

  • Hmmm these Aldi headphones or the Bluedio T2?

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-BLUEDIO-T2S-Wireless-Bluetoot…

My current headphones are dying and the leather on the ear is pealing off which is annoying :(

  • +1

Anyone know if these work on xbox one?

    • Yeah I'd like to know this too. Would be perfect if it can connect with my Xbox One S and have the mic work!

  • The usb connector is surface mounted with no real support. My 12yo has has broken two sets trying to charge them. Other than that they were fine.

  • Are they designed to fold?

  • +2

There were about 12 available at the Canberra Centre Aldi this morning. Plenty to go around…

  • Just picked up one of these. Not too bad. Sound is better than I expected. Might give them a few days use before I make my final judgement on comfort. :P

  • +2

Bought a pair of these today, and after using them for a couple of hours, here are my first impressions:

    • Sound - clear, decent bass and quite loud
    • Quality - they are very light and made mostly of plastic, but still feel great and are comfortable
    • Range - they live up to their stated range of 10m
    • Misc - I like how each ear cup has the relevant 'L' and 'R' printed onto the foam

For what it's worth I much prefer these over the Turbine T3+ I purchased off eBay last month, mainly because I was able to pair these to my laptop, which I wasn't able to do with the T3s.

Great value for their price, will definitely hold onto these for a couple of weeks and put them through their paces before I make a final decision.

  • +1

I concur with the above, suprised at how they sound and feel for the price. Good

  • +2

I also purchased them, they're very nice for the price. Pairing was easy on iPhone, Android and PC. I am using them as a gaming headset at the moment and the mic is reasonable, easily muted with "Mutemic" software and hotkey, for those PC inclined :-)

Only downside is after about 2hr of straight use, I did find them uncomfortable compared to my sennheiser set (granted, they're quadruple the price).
