  • Postage time?

Buger just bought Moto G4 plus tonight for $345

    • Where did you get it for $345 ? The 16gb model? Cheers

      • Moto G4 plus. XT1642 16gb
        From Harvey Norman's

  • +4

Note b28 doesn't seem to make much difference - I still have 4G signal on both Telstra and Optus in rural SA with just b3 and b7. Both max out at about 75mbps locally.

    • +4

You will notice when you visit melb or sydney

      • +3

I moved from a phone with B28 to one without in Sydney. If anything the new phone has better reception.

      • +2

No difference in Melbourne metro judging by a Nexus 5x H791 vs H790. Didn't notice any difference in Sydney CBD / blue mountains either. B28 is more like a religious belief these days.

      • +1

Adelaide was no difference and regional SA was actually better without b28. Can't comment for Melbourne/Sydney, but in Melbourne CBD I was struggling to get above 8mbps WITH b28 - surely it can't be worse than that?

  • -4

i will suggest you to pay a little higher to this seller and get Australian warranty + express shipping + B28 band(my optus 4g+ working fine). My phone died and i had to send it to Perth and they send me a brand new one without a single question asked. Very professional service.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/122009171115?euid=55cce808567b434…

    • +1

Couldn't see a direct warranty statement listed? Just warranty on the listing heading
After a boot looped G4, from eBay grey import, local Perth supplier warranty is interesting

    • +2

I don't see anywhere in that listing saying it has the B28 band though.

      • +1

Yeah I've seen a few phones by this eBay seller and am interested in it, I've emailed asking if it supports B28

        • +4

I got reply and no B28

  • Does this have NFC?

    • +5

No NFC on these phones - the one thing negative going against it … still, for the price, its a bloody good phone (bought the Redmi Note 3 Pro Prime ooh-la-la-global-super-whatever-the-hell-version-it-was about a month ago. No "band 28" or whatever, but still get good 4G speeds on the one I've got - http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Original-Xiaomi-Redmi-Note-3-…

  • +5

The Redmi Note 4 is expected to be announced at xiaomi's special event today. I think it's around 11.30 Brisbane time

    • +1

And redmi 4 for those that would prefer a 5 inch phone.

    • /edit: found some! Had to be less literal in my google search.

      http://www.timesnews.co.uk/11578-xiaomi-might-launch-redmi-n…

      Will wait for the RMN4P.

    • It's expected to not have a snapdragon, and have not much difference/size shape.

    • +2

      Officially out….
      Pros - unibody metal
Cons - not sure how i feel about the mediatek + mali GPU combo…seems 3d takes a hit over SN650.

      http://www.androidcentral.com/xiaomi-unveils-redmi-note-4-10…

      • Looks like they cut down on the chipset for the metal body for the price point. But yeah, a RN4 Pro might come with a Snapdragon processor.

        • +1

A Snapdragon variant will come out later.

I would imagine the X20 is slightly better than the s650 because it made on a newer process 20nm vs 28nm. Hopefully that means it runs cooler and throttles less. I can't wait till we get SoCs based on the a73 next year, since the big advantage will be less throttling. People just look at benchmarks and take by the highest scores and never seem to factor in how well the SoC can maintain it performance.

        • I've looked at comparisons between X25 and S650 (Redmi pro vs. redmi note 3 pro) and the RN3 pro outperforms it so if you need a fone now, this is a good purchase

        • There already is RN4 Pro.
It has the MTK X25 SoC

Though I do hope an S652 variant is released.

I think three Greekbuying.com rep is meant to post a deal on this phone on 30/08/16 . I suggest everyone to wait and see if that will be better

    • They are doing a deal this Saturday only on the gold version.

They are all presales and are maybe shipping just after the 30th.

      • +3

Haha just saw I wrote greek instead of geek

    • +9

I was in the market for a barrel of tzatziki.

      • I think the alieexpress rep is meant to post a deal on a barrel of tzatziki on 30/08/16.

    • +3

to geekbuying rep - probably best to put it on sale now otherwise people might buy this instead (as they have not advised price)

  • Wow very nice!

  • +1

their 3GB/32GB is cheaper than offered by recent OZB geekbuying deal, up to AU$20 for the gold version

That's because the 3GB/32GB was never on sale……

    • +1

Can you not do a pricematch Clear on geekbuying?

      • +2

I can. The deal I intend on posting this week is already cheaper than Aliexpress. I'll see if I can beat jd.

        • +1

          Waiting on your deal rep

        • +1

          Do your best Clear :)

  • Could someone who has this phone please confirm if the dual SIM is 4g/3g or 4g/2g ? Thanks.

  • Interesting only 136 orders and no feedback on AliExpress, hope these guys are legit

    • +1

I purchased 2 hybrid ear phones a month back. Can confirm that they're genuine products. In no way though is this store actually authorised by Xiaomi.

    • That is because this is a new listing. Previously for RN3 Pro Prime they only sell with custom ROM and that seems to have good feedback.

  • This or grey import of Nexus 5x 32GB? I want to buy for someone.

  • It seems as though this phone is 2mm longer than the other Non-International variants. This may be a problem with limiting case selections :(

  • I suspect these guys are "a" Xiaomi Authorized store rather than "the" Xiaomi Authorized store.

    • +1

There is no authorized Xiaomi Store on AliExpress - these guys' prices are worryingly cheap.

      • Agreed that the store isn't authorised by Xiaomi. But what is worryingly cheap from them?

        • The fact that they're so much cheaper than everyone else…

        • @Droz: but they're not.

        • @PR0r:

Hmmm, you're right - last time I checked, they were about $40 less than the nearest competitor.

  • Hi would this phone be better at $50 more than the 2/16 Lenovo note 3.

    • +1

Yes, I am looking to go from K3 Note to this.

The problems with the K3 Note in particular are the failing touch screens (mine has failed and replaced twice) and the dodgy software installed, even with the ROW rom from Lenovo.

    • +1

3 GB RAM and 32 GB expandable storage would be better, plus the frequently-updated ROM serum Xiaomi. This special edition actually runs Android 6

    • +2

This is from JD.com - 6 days processing plus 23 days delivery via DHL ?
      That doesnt sound right ?

      DHL-POP
      Shipping Cost: USD $11.77
      Processing Time: 6 days
      Delivery Time: 23 days
      Ship From: China

  • keeping my fingers crossed for a geekbuying deal on the 32gb model but i might just need to pull the trigger on one of these.

  • +1

Redmi note 4 is out already with metal unibody and x20 processor

    • +1

im really confused about pro's and con's of the note 4 and the one listed in this OZB release. is it more than just 3GB/32GB and 3GB/64GB for about the same price points? isnt this one a no-brainer. both are B27/700mhz as well, is that right?

      • Yup if you want to use a phone now the RN3 is a good deal with the B28 & SD650. The more major differences of the RN4 over RN3 would be like you said, more internal storage, supposedly wider angle front facing camera, and unibody metal design.

However RN4 is only being sold in China at the moment so there's the Chinese ROM or pesky vendor custom ROM you'll have to deal with buying from an importer.

        • will it do dual 3g/4g standby?

      • I would say unibody better build would be a key for RN4. Performance may be similar. You get more storage though.

  • Just confused with spec at different site.

This note3 does support micro SD card or not ?

    • +2

Yes it does. Its a hybrid dual sim phone meaning you can either have a nano sim or micro SD in the 2nd sim card tray.

  • has anyone had any experience buying from JD??

    • I bought a Lenovo K3 Note from JD last year. Took ages to arrive (around a month from memory) but no problems apart from that.

  • Miui 8 released today as well on note2

  • Looks like geekbuying has posted their special (not posted yet on ozb)

    http://www.geekbuying.com/item/Xiaomi-Redmi-Note-3-Pro-5-5-I…

if you click int'l 32GB gold, its $175.99 USD.
Can anyone confirm this is same item as what is being offered here by AliExpress (sorry, I am new to Xiaomi)

to rep - any special for ozb members?

    • Clear from Geekbuying was going to try and beat the JD deal of US$172. I think the deal from geekbuying is yet to come.

      • ok cool. thanks.. will wait for her post or deal.
FYI though, the joybuy / jd deal looks like $184 delivered.

        • +2

95c US difference between GB and JD with DHL shipping. I'll beat it.

        • +1

@Clear: Great! When can you provide a coupon for it? :D

        • @Clear:
          Hi Clear,
I'm looking at geekbuy but I'm confused with the Official International vs Package B. They seems to be the same price. What's the difference apart from tempered glass & soft case?

        • @mungicide: Package B is the model with 2gb RAM and 16 storage.

        • @Clear:
          Well it says Package B 3+32GB - Gold ?

        • @mungicide: That would be the Chinese version without b28.

        • @Clear:

          when is your deal coming?

        • @mick123: Tomorrow arvo. Store reps are restricted to 2 deals a week :(

        • @Clear:

Great. Also any chance for a phone+case bundle? :)

        • @Clear:
Considering the large number of members requesting a good price/deal, you'd think it would be allowed….
(Or is the deal count automatically restricted)

        • @albanyson: It's already on the front page.

          Restriction is automatic.

  • That is the standard version without international bands, known as kenzo, The one that we want is international version or Special Edition known as Kate. Kate is also slightly larger height 152mm vs kenzo 150mm.

    • Are you talking about the JD one or the Aliexpress one? Both state band 28 and 700mhz, but yeah the jd one seems more sketchy… I've heard errors like this happen all the time with these chinese sites.

People gonna be pissed if they get the kenzo one…

      • +1

Was response to mungicide. But I reply wrong place.

  • +2

If someone is too impatient for whatever Clear comes up with, you can get the Grey international 3GB version from geekbuying for $176.69 USD (~$232.13 AUD) delivered registered airmail, or $185.41 (~$243.59 AUD) with DHL shipping.

Use coupon 'retailmenot' for 5% off. http://www.geekbuying.com/item/Xiaomi-Redmi-Note-3-Pro-5-5-I…

    • Problem is when you apply the above code the price of the phone goes to original price so it works out more expensive .. Not sure if there is a way around that ..

      • +2

That's only happens on the gold version, but not many people want the gold version anyway :P.

  • +1

    http://s.aliexpress.com/n22E3iua

I bought 1 from Eternal team, phone itself is cheaper but have to bundle with DHL shipping (about $9 more). According to whirlpool redmi note 3 wiki page, Eternal Team is one of a reputable seller on AliExpress.

    • I'd be all over that, if Aliexpress allowed Paypal payment method though. Like to have buyer protection if there are issues.

  • Anyone selling with case and screen protector deal? Have not seen any matching cases or screen protectors.

  • How do you get cash back?

  • The case and screen protector is designed for the standard redmi note 3 150mm vs 152.5mm and case will be tight fit and protector will be 2 mm short. :(

    • Yes I have 2 types of TPU cases for the standard Note 3 and they did not fit well with the special Note 3

  • Might already be on special $169.99 on GB for the Gold version.

Decisions decisions. Oppo F1 or P9 or this, or just get my iPhone 6 screen fixed (was going to Android in December when contract up, but outright this time).

Just received my Note 3 Special Edition from this AliExpress seller and it is looking pretty good. It was finally shipped yesterday and arrived in the afternoon. The box is actually sealed and the labels on the box are in English. It comes with an Asian two-pin plug charger (Aussie socket adapter included separately by the seller) and the FCC label was still stuck on the phone itself instead of the plastic label where the IMEI,SN and warning details are stuck on.

However, the FCC label is different from the Chinese model and it was much easier to remove with the FCC label still intact without leaving much adhesive on the phone because the label is sort of plasticky (coated?) instead of plain paper (in Chinese model) that tears off easily. I have previously gotten a standard Note 3 Pro Prime from Dreami on AliExpress and that phone ended up with a faulty left capacitative button.

Overall, thanks OP for this listing.

Edit: Oh yeah the phone is noticeably taller (in portrait) compared to the standard RN3 and the 2mm extra is divided to both sides instead of just one side sticking out 2mm. Unfortunately I have to find cases especially for the Taiwanese model (or from Taiwanese sellers) because I have 2 types of standard RN3 TPU cases and they didn't fit well at all: barely covering the edges of the phone/ slightly blocking the ports and camera LEDs.

    • My friend bought me a SE as a present, should arrive soon. Please advise if found cases which will fit this one. He told me he bought it with silicon case and protector, but I afraid they won't fit… Will they?

  • Has anyone had their order shipped after ordering on the 20th of September? My DHL waybill information has been updated with shipping information received on the 23rd but no action since then. The seller is not responding to messages on Aliexpress as well.

  • Hi all,

I'm looking to buy one but need it delivered within the next few days. Geekbuying says it delivers within 3-7 days. Has anyone ordered from them and confirm they dwliver within that time frame?

    Thanks.

    • Try checking one of the deals here with geekbuying? Iirc there should be one recently and you can check the comments section.

If you choose the express shipping with this Aliexpress seller you should be able to get it by the end of next week. It was very fast for me
