I just came here for the French jokes ……

  • +11

Can't have these religious fanatics running around French beaches in head-to-toe clothing, can we ……… oh wait!

    http://www.alamy.com/stock-photo-nuns-at-the-beach-hossegor-…

    • +2

      spot on

    • At least you can see the faces of the nuns.

      • +1

        Yes….and….?

        • -1

It's a bit less dehumanising. It also allows the nuns to identify each other for establishing and maintaining the pecking order in their flock.

      • what's the difference with hijab? don't get confuse with burqa:)

  • +3

So this is the Ozbargain community lol

    • this is what happen in real life too, you know. but more polite:)

      • Yeah, nah. In real life, bigots generally fear nose smashies a little more and tend to avoid eyecontact altogether…. Hahaha

  • +2

Surely attracts all the rare Pokemons and SWAT Teams…

  • Completely unnecessary piece of garment.

  • +2

Is this where I come to complain about people exercising their right to either A, believe in deities or B, make fun of the belief of deities?

    • +1

A belief in a deity is not the same as dictating how people should behave, what to think, and the punishments for not following the rules written in a book.

      • religion without rules? state without laws? even pope francis not agree with you, mate:)

      • Yes, I was simplifying the core issue, which is really freedom of speech vs. superstition. The offended are laughable for defending serious mysticism, and the anti religious mob are laughable for not seeing their own ridiculous beliefs for what they are.

E.g. I believe that we shouldn't encourage ancient sexist practices, but I understand that acting upon my belief is infringing on other's free will.

Nobody wins in the game of <current year>.

My god there is some absolutely whiny PC people in this thread.

Surely you know what you're walking into here, just don't read it.

You people are worse than the people throwing out the jokes… (I thought some where quite funny actually - I don't hate life though - Whatever happened to the 'have a laugh' mentality of this country?)

    Neg me… I don't care.

    • No. Have a plus-vote.

    • Neg me… I don't care.

Perhaps some people do care …….. so here, have a neg.

You are far more deserving than jv.

      • OK. Have a plus-vote.

    • +1

      whiny PC

The first word is redundant, but I'll allow it for the sake of emphasis.

  • +1

    Are they bank-friendly?

  • Do you need to shave down to wear this??

    • +2

      Only if you have unibrows.

  • Are these good to hide your ugly wife?

    • +9

Don't know - post a photo so we can vote.

    • -3

It's what they were invented for.

    Ozbargain meetup in this?

  • OzBargain is run as a community that gives users the freedom to speak about whatever they want as well have differing opinions. On the other hand, we do not tolerate personal attacks nor do we condone speech that crosses into hate speech. There is a fuzzy line between being funny & topical and being rude and hurtful to others. As moderators, it's our job to decide where that line is, which is not an easy call to make.

Just some examples from this thread. (Some comments I don't understand, had to look up the French one)

This is a good deal for my local Ninja Club…

Funny and acceptable as it is talking about the product at hand. OK.

    French stock…

Topical and sarcastic comment as Sportdirect is a European company AND some French beach areas have banned the burkini. OK.

The all black look reminds me of ISIL.

Off-Topic and inappropriate and started a long thread off-topic thread about Islam which has nothing to do with the product.

    Slit, Slut, Slap

    Inappropriate and offensive.

Make sure you yell whilst wearing this
    "Halal Snackbar Halal Snackbar"

    Inappropriate.

We'll be looking closely at the comments but I'll make this simple. If you aren't sure if you what you are about to type may be offensive or not appropriate, then don't comment (or ask us for assistance). This is a bargain site so let's stick to the bargain.

      French stock…

Some comments I don't understand, had to look up the French one

I thought it was a reference to Onion Soup…

    • +2

glad to be here where special snowflakes are not "Protected Species" and they can't shut down discussion at will.

    • Likewise, if I do not have an issue with any of the comments, should I complain to a moderator?

Off-Topic and inappropriate and started a long thread off-topic thread about Islam which has nothing to do with the product.

Are you sure Islam has nothing to do with the product? Who do you think it was made for?

  • +1

Brilliant, lets take advice from ancient frauds. They also thought slavery was fine…

    • +2

have you been in usa few decades ago? not too ancient, right?!

      • WIthout you going into more detail i have no idea what you are referring too.

Im going to guess here, and say where did i say i am or believe anything from any American church ?

On the other hand lets pretend, America is a religion or perhaps a social system, if you know its wrong and immoral why would you still follow it ? Two wrongs dont make a right, just because the NAZIs had bad ideas, doesnt mean anyone should also accept some other garbage.

btw: Who said i recommended anything American ? I dont like their political system and that includes their crazy policies of guns or healthcare. Hopefully you can appreciate that as sensible adults we should pick whats best for us our families and our countries. We should be promoting political systems that help make that true as best we can. Religion in all its forms are political systems. Many run schools, want to tell people what to do, how or who to marry, some even collect money. Some also run wars and more horrible things. So why would any sane person want to participate in a religion that doesnt deliver and has a poor record of violence. I delibrately made that vague because Christianity is just as guilty as Islam of horrible things not only due to imperfect people , but because what it tells people and what it fails to tell people. Go read your Koran and Bble and see what examples they give without condemnation. Those are bad examples and bad books that tell people to do bad things.

You've heard of budgie smugglers. These are for the whole aviary.

    Ninjas unite.

  • -4

    Ladies do not wear Burkinies

  • +4

These comments are not racist I look at more like teasing because if you're an adult and believe in invisible people and fairy tales you should handle a bit of criticism.

  • How thick is this thing? Can it protect againsts stingers and cold?

  • +1

Will see someone robbing 7-11 wearing these on the news pretty soon I'm sure.

    • +3

I usually see hoodies doing that. I wear hoodies.

  • Save on the sunscreen during the summer. This must be SPF 97+ with the eyes expose.

  • Can't wait to wear mine to the airport, looks very comfortable.

  • +1

why they don't sell it in white ??

    • See post earlier…. There is a VERY good reason.

    • I suppose in strong sunlight it may be possible to determine the wearer's shape, thus defeating the garment's purpose.

  • +1

The price might even rise again. France's highest administrative court has now overturned the burkini ban.

    • Suspended. It is keeping us in suspense.

  • Please note the following changes to Sports Direct Postage. I used to use standard postage to Australia for $9.80.

Recently I tried to buy a few items and the postage defaulted to Express. I contacted Sports Direct and got the following message:

    Hi,
    Thank you for your email.
I am sorry to hear this, Unfortunately if your order now contains multiple items and is above 2kg we can only offer an express delivery service.
    Sorry for any inconvenience caused
    Kind regards
    Rebecca

For a couple of t shirts and a jacket, postage was over $30!

Thanks for the warning. That postage cost defeats the purpose for me. It may be time to delete my bookmark for them.
