So the two SIM cards will be permanently duelling each other for access to the phone ?

    • Nope there is settings for it one is duel sim one or two can be used data while other is just for calls and texts, there are also some other settings.

          En guarde…

Just so you know, because you've written it 5 times already, it's dual not duel.

    • lol. I just noticed!

  • Is this dual sim 4G/3G or 4G/2G?

    • im not sure maybe google it? there are also single sims, I just think duel sim will boost aftersales if you were to sell it later on

      • It won't if it supports 4G/2G as 2G network will be shut down very soon. That means the second sim is essentially useless.

    Grey import Samsung - Nope

    • 1yr warranty, not the 2 like local stock. Return to HK for repairs

    T-Dimension - Double Nope!

    • The bad feedback about import warranty i think came from the LG G4 how nearly all of them were faulty and had to be return .

I would rather save lots of money as even if I needed repairs i could even pay for them here, Phone outright here costs $1240 from JB import is only around $780 so is very cheap.

i also trust T-Dimension as every email I sent them with questions they answer right away. They also have very good feedback on TrustPilot

      • Considering the phone was available @ $59/month over 2 years, how much are you saving by buying outright, and grey import?
$776 is $32/month over 2 years, so the plan component accounts for $27/month for 3GB data.

Not to mention, the plan gives you a local phone with 2yrs warranty.

Dual-sim has been shown is pointless, 2nd sim is 2G.

        • It is up to you or buyers if they want to risk it or not. Nothing is wrong with my phone its running good. ill rather not be on a plan and their so annoying to sign up to. This is a good deal for who ever wants to buy an import and a duel sim s7 edge

        • @shadowrukia:

But that's what I'm getting at… what BYO/pre-paid deal are you on, that's cheaper than $27/month, and gives you more than 3GB data…?

Coz otherwise this is actually more expensive than buying on a plan, and having local, 2 years warranty.

        • @Spackbace: im on a plan that is 20 with 2GB. I use wifi at home, mostly at home. so Data does not matter to me much. Being on a plan you are on a contract as well dont forget.

        • @shadowrukia:

Yep, well aware you are, but you're also effectively getting a $1100 phone, not a $770 phone… Crunching the numbers, you'd have to be really against plans/contracts to decide to buy this phone outright at this price

        • If you want to leave before the two year contract is up, you have to pay an early termination fee of $25 per month remaining on contract on top of the non-subsidised handset cost.

          @Spackbace:

Made this decision recently as I was originally looking for a new phone that was under $600 and was getting frustrated by the lack of decent deals. Didnt really want to get a grey import purely for warranty purposes and peace of mind.

Was able to haggle Telstra to $65 a month for a Galaxy S7 with 4gb data and unlimited calls. As I was already paying $40 a month on a BYO plan, to me, that works out to getting the S7 for $600 paying off over 2 years rather than all at once. Yes you might like the flexibility of leaving early but I have been with Telstra for the last 6 years, whats another 2.

Yeah, I would avoid this. I wouldnt want a $780 paperweight.

  • too complicated

    steps:
    1) dont bother
    2) move on

  • If your going to Root the phone like I have warranty cant be used anyway if you root it.

    • +1

never heard of becextech. wouldn't risk it.

  • Hi Shadowrukia,
Was your phone factory sealed when it arrived?

    • +1

      Yes it was
